💜 Meet JOY & FURY ART

🎨 MAUREEN: Traditional Artist
💻 GREG: Digital Artist
🐾 WILBER: Studio management

We’re a small but fierce crew made up of myself, my husband Greg and our always-hungry-studio-cat, Wilber. Since 2023 we’ve been making art prints, cards and stickers, showing up at markets and in-stores across Nova Scotia. So far, most of 2026 has been spent making improvements on the back end of our business, figuring out the “boring” stuff like ads and SEO. At the moment we are slowly plugging away at a website revamp. But, we’ve got a few fun art projects brewing for the fall (yay!) along with our website relaunch so please STAY TUNED!

Maureen’s “Breathe” —

What inspired this piece? A stop light. A hard day. Something to focus my energy on. See it on the bottom right? Purple and rectangular, now covered in strange yellow petals and a mysterious flower. That is where the stop light began. Anxiety was loud that day, so I drew what I could see from the living room. Eventually the word ‘breathe’ appeared, and the drawing kept me still, present, and grounded.

Hey! Did you know that the Seaside Moonlight art print was actually inspired by a miniature that I made during the pandemic? Just like everyone else, I was itching to do something while stuck at home and I made this little fishing shack just from the things we already had in our apartment (and my imagination). A lot of cardboard, glue, acrylic paint and many of my own *found treasures* made their way into this one. I even designed an interior, which I will reshare again in another post because it’s too cute to keep all to myself. Hope you enjoy seeing what inspired this drawing and the little fishing cove I imagine the shack lies nestled within. — Maureen

Sunset Wreck - what remains of a once-proud demon of speed now rests fading in a lonely wheat field, scorched under the hot sun. I created this piece several years ago, but only put the finishing touches on it this week. Now available as a print for the first time. I created this in photoshop, using several classic muscle cars as inspiration, while adding some personal touches into the design. In its glory days, I picture this car as heavy, fast, but not something you’d want to take on a winding road.

The indomitable Sea Shack, taking a brutal beating from a frothy storm. I made this a piece a few years ago, and I always like to think someone is in the shack, having a cup of tea, enjoying the storm. - Greg
