How to repaint the proper way. Alec at work:

Sanding it down till the tiniest crack is gone, otherwise the primer gets under the old primer/colour and lifts it up. THATโ€˜S the first key to success.
To use less color as possible, I start with the darkest color I have to cover. Here itโ€˜s black. On letโ€˜s say guitars/furniture it could be dark brown.
Why this way? We use transparent colors on white.
Using white primer to cut down the black/white edges, you need much more layers to cover it, hence more time.
โ€”โ€”-
๐ŸšจA lot of color primer plus colors plus clear coat โ€”> not good for a puck impact. ๐Ÿ˜„

After slightly sanding, I apply transparent colors (much brighter than solid colors).
At the end some loose clouds โ€ฆ and the clear coat.
Voilร ! The genuine design, made by Marco years ago, is as new.

Starting our 33rd (!) year of painting feels surreal!๏ฟฝNo worries, Iโ€™ll probably write this every year from now on ๐Ÿ˜…

Back in 1993, when I launched my painting business, I was searching for an unique name. I came up with Airxess โ€” inspired by the idea of having an excess of air, the essential source to keep an airbrush alive. A metaphor for never running out of energy, motivation, or resources.
At first, hardly anyone could pronounce or spell Airxess ๐Ÿ˜ but I stuck with it. More than three decades later, it feels more right than ever. ๐Ÿ’ฏ

A special mention goes to Marco, who has been part of Airxess for around 15 years, bringing incredible spirit into the company. Two painters on equal footing โ€” a key to our long-term success. And beside work, a very good friendship.

Am I afraid of AI? No โ€” I embrace new technology. But at Airxess GmbH, we stay true to hand-painted designs, just like in the early days.
Itโ€™s about the love of color, reading the canvas (the mask), and capturing ideas in the very moment they appear. Every piece carries that energy and is a one of a kind pice of art - you can feel it.

There are many works we havenโ€™t showed yet, or wonโ€™t be showed ever.
But here a super nice work we did for Postfinance a few years ago.

Every Topscorer in our top league NLA is gaining some money to support the youth.
We had the pleasure to paint a few of these piggy banks. If your are in painting business, you know how hard it is to paint ceramic with the glazed surface.
Imagine, that thing was displayed everywhere and went through hundreds of hands.
We did a pretty good job!

Here his latest/actual Sierre design, hand made by Marco, with glossy and matte clear coat.
A very cool effect is the red chrome when turning the mask. Check that short vid.

In the last few Olympics we came up with some pretty innovative mask designs. Remember Vancouver? We made that spectacular Tell and Rรผtlischwur one which was much talked about.
By the way, it was about the only design which had not to cover parts of the design because of the rules and regulations. That was crazy -

You already know, our focus is about 98% on goalie masks. The other two percent we use for other cool inquiries, like the ones of the Gasparin sisters. Alec has painted all their riffles.
Here you see the second design for Aita, a very detailed lion. Now used at the Olympics in Milan
