Zollanvari Handcrafted Tribal & Contemporary Design carpets
Gebäude B, Embraport 16, CH8424 Embrach, Switzerland Appreciation and demand for Gabbehs grew over the years.

The story of Zollanvari began in 1947, when at a tender age Gholamreza Zollanvari joined his father’s carpet business, a legacy that had been handed down from his great grandfather. Initially he focused on the traditional products of the nomads of South Persia. Those colourful carpets with high pile, Gabbehs, were knotted only for use in homes as bedspreads and bedcovers. They were and are a vivid

expression of the art and soul of the traditional weaving and aesthetic sensibility of southern Persian nomads. Gholamreza Zollanvari began working with the Ghashgha’i and Luri nomads to start weaving new Gabbehs with more contemporary designs.

“Magnetic presences that invite an immersive experience within the home.” 🏠✨

A beautiful tribute in to the Silk Road Collection—the visionary new capsule from .

We are incredibly proud to be the production partners for this collection, translating the creative vision of Camilla Fischbacher and her team through our signature nomadic weaving art.

As the editors highlight, the true uniqueness lies in the artisan soul of each piece (swipe to see the detail):

✨ Master Craftsmanship: Knotted in our Zollanvari Super Fine quality—the highest expression of our hand-knotted pile Gabbeh technique.

✨ Chromatic Depth: Naturally dyed with pomegranate and madder root, requiring 48 hours of patient processing to achieve the “chromatic stability” praised by the press.

✨ Art on the Move: Woven by nomadic Luri women on portable looms, integrating ancient knowledge into the rhythms of seasonal migration.

It is a privilege to provide the craftsmanship behind this “rich and dynamic visual language.” Our thanks to Manuela Di Mari and the team at Elle Décor Italia for this poetic insight.

Jamshid is a hand-knotted carpet in 100% organic wool, crafted using the Ziggurat technique for a soft, tactile surface. Its layered design evokes an abstract landscape, unfolding through subtle tonal variations and shifting textures.

A wonderful start to the week!

As we begin our journey at milan.design.week , we are delighted to see our collections featured so beautifully in the Spring 2026 issue of Rug Insider Magazine.

‘Tulip Meadow 3’ from the Flower Meadow Collection is our tribute advert. In our culture, the red tulip (Laleh) is a profound symbol of love and sacrifice—an unbroken thread of remembrance whose beauty blossoms in the heart of the homeland.

We are also thrilled to see our ‘Modernist Flower Power 2’ included in their “Floral Fever” focus and ‘Modern ‘Mihrab’ from the Graffiti Collection and ‘Naïve Landscape with Blooms 2’ from the new Dopamine Collection both designed by Zollanvari Studio in their IN STYLE Markets feature.

Thank you, Peter Woodaman and the Rug Insider Magazine team, for your continued support and for your kind words regarding the situation in Iran. It means a great deal to us.

“Future & Heritage”

A double feature in the new Spring issue of COVER Magazine 📖✨

From our heartfelt tribute advert to the deep dives, we are proud to be part of the conversation.

Our ‘Tulip Meadow 3’ (Super Fine Gabbeh) takes a bow—a piece that remains an “unbroken thread” of remembrance and material truth.

Inside, we share our perspective on the future of the industry. While the world discusses AI, we are already using it as a “multiplier” for storytelling—ensuring that while our methods evolve, the integrity of the handmade rug and our nomadic heritage remains non-negotiable.

At Zollanvari, we don’t choose between the algorithm and the artisan; we use every tool available to amplify the soul of the craft.

Nōrooz Mobarak!🌿

When choosing an image for today, we had to share a detail of this runner. The design is known as ‘Gol-o-Bolbol’—the Bloom and the Nightingale.

It is an ancient motif in Persian art and poetry, symbolising the nightingale’s patient adoration for the often difficult, beautiful bloom (normally a rose). In our culture, the nightingale is the messenger of spring, whose song wakes the earth.

As we mark the very second that winter turns to spring today, Gol-o-Bolbol feels remarkably apt. It is a reminder of the quiet, enduring adoration that connects us—and our weaving traditions—to Iran.

Our thoughts today are with the weavers, the workers, and the families who have carried our heritage through many a difficult winter, and over these challenging times. Today, we celebrate the resilience they embody.

Saale No Mobarak! May this year bring a spring that stays. 🕊️✨🍎

BEAUTY PERSISTS ✨
Beauty has a way of persisting, even in the most challenging times. Since the very beginning, the spirit of Zollanvari has been shaped by our artisans and a weaving tradition that goes back two millennia.
We are so proud to share that our newest designs have arrived at our Embrach headquarters! Each piece tells a story of hope—like the vibrant ‘Tulip Meadow’ in full bloom or the ‘Rising Peacock,’ reimagined shimmering against a twilight forest rising from the ashes. These designs are a true tribute to the resilience of our community and a cultural heritage that remains unbroken.

Cozy Up with Zollanvari’s Latest Features in Rug Insider Magazine! ☕

The winter break may be over, but we are still feeling the warmth of the latest Rug Insider issue! We are thrilled to see Zollanvari featured across several key trends this season.

Whether it’s the philosophical beauty of our Noor Collection (The Call of Light) or the “In-Style” Moonlit Mirage, these designs are about more than just decor—they are about self-recognition and the “living truth” found in every thread.

Looking for Design Inspiration? Check out the “Earth Tones” feature! Our Mondrianesque Squares Revisited 6 perfectly captures that grounded, calming energy of the outdoors—ideal for creating a peaceful retreat at home. 🌿

A Special Collaboration: Don’t miss our advert featuring ‘Palm Leaves’. We’ve worked with Nils Owe Engström to adapt a stunning Jane Churchill wallpaper into a breathtaking, hand-spun wool Gabbeh. It’s a true blend of high-end wallpaper design and ancient Persian craftsmanship.

Which trend are you loving most for 2026? Earthy neutrals or ethereal light? Let us know in the comments!

A huge thank you to Rug Insider for the wonderful spread! We always enjoy seeing our collections through your editorial lens. 📖✨

Back to business: Please note that our Zurich headquarters officially reopens on Monday! We can’t wait to get started on some exciting new projects for the year ahead. See you then!
