See you all this weekend!

What an absolute honor and honestly, a real joy, to meet the father of Gremlins himself, Joe Dante, during his visit to Filmpodium.

Joe was in Zurich to present his wonderful film Matinee, and I had the chance to sit down with him and talk about one of my all-time favorites of his films: Gremlins.

Even better, we spoke about the actual props from the movie, including Stripe’s skull, made for the final battle scene.

I’m very happy to share the first episode here, in which we reunite Joe with this incredible piece of film history.

Huge thanks to Joe Dante, and a big shout-out to the whole Filmpodium crew for making this happen.

What a year. Fair to say the most exciting one of my life!
🌟
When I started Wunderkammer back in 2012, I could never have imagined what it would become 13 years later. What began as a small curioshop, with animal skulls, butterflies, taxidermy mice and carefully selected antiques, slowly evolved into a fantastical brand dedicated to natural history objects of the highest quality.

Through the trust of our clients, and with the help of countless friends, taxidermists, palaeontologists, preparators and specialists, the brand grew stronger year after year.
🌟
From 2022 to 2024, I had the privilege of conducting five “Out of This World” auctions at Koller in Zurich, generating close to CHF 10 million in total. Along the way, we sold the first T. rex ever offered at auction outside the US, set world records for moon meteorites and Gogottes, and welcomed one of the last living moonwalkers, Charlie Duke (Apollo 16), an unforgettable moment.
🌙
Then New York called. And who can resist the pull of the city that never sleeps?
A new chapter began with Phillips, one of the great international names in the auction world. Together with their incredible team, we reimagined and elevated Out of This World to a truly international standard. The first auction this November was a smashing success, with a sell-through rate of over 90% and two new world records.
♥️
So yes, what a year. What a journey.
From all of us at Wunderkammer, thank you to the countless wonderful human beings who made this possible. We wish you a fantastic start to 2026, which I’m sure will bring new adventures, new stories and a few rollercoaster rides along the way.
🦖
Stay strange, stay hungry, stay curious.
This world is still full of wonders waiting to be discovered.

Up for auction this thursday

Few animals have ever weaponized their mouths like the Tyrannosaurus rex. Digital musculoskeletal models estimate adult T. rex could deliver ~35–57 kN at a single posterior tooth, among the highest bite forces calculated for any land animal, while feeding studies show tooth pressures high enough to pulverize bone (on the order of ~0.7–3 GPa). These values help explain classic “puncture-and-pull” bite marks and the animal’s rare, mammal-like osteophagy (habitual bone-crunching).

2024: A Wonderfully Strange Year

What a ride, 2024. You’ve been a year of extremes—ups, downs, winding roads, hidden tunnels, and the occasional rabbit hole I never saw coming.

I want to pause and thank all of you who’ve been part of this journey. Whether you walked alongside me for a stretch, shared a quick break at the roadside, or celebrated a milestone, you made it brighter.
This year started on a bittersweet note with the loss of my dear friend Anton in January. Anton, your thoughts guided me toward an adventurous new path, and I hope to honor you as I continue this journey the coming years.

Among the highs, we hosted two incredible auction events with Koller Auctions—huge thanks to the amazing Koller team and family for making it happen! Another dream came to life when I joined the Dinomuseum Aathal crew for a real dinosaur dig in Wyoming. Seeing firsthand the incredible hard work involved in extracting these giant creatures from the ground was truly inspiring.
And then, a once-in-a-lifetime encounter: spending time with Apollo 16 moonwalker Charlie Duke. From talking about space and moon rocks to discussing the things that truly matter, it was a conversation I’ll never forget.
Through it all—reaching rock bottom, soaring to new heights, and every twist in between—you were there. To all who offered support, friendship, and a sense of belonging, thank you for making this wild journey a little easier and a lot more meaningful.

Ad Astra,
Christian

This September, I had the incredible opportunity to join the Swiss Dinosaur Museum Aathal on their dig in Wyoming. It was an awe-inspiring experience, and I gained a deep appreciation for the challenging conditions they face while excavating dinosaur bones in the blistering Wyoming heat. I already had immense respect and admiration for their work, but witnessing it firsthand was a true game changer. Eight to ten hours on their knees, enduring sandstorms, intense heat, a hotel where a freight train wakes you every 30 minutes (yes, I can confirm this!), with the nearest decent food over an hour away—all while facing the constant uncertainty of whether they’ll find anything that season.

And yes, they did—a major discovery that will be revealed in the future!

A huge thanks to Yoli, Köbi, and the entire team at Dinosaur Museum Aathal. And special thanks to Roman from Hunterfilm for capturing this incredible journey—his work will be unveiled soon!

In one week (December 4, 2023) its time for the third "Out of this world" Auction in Zurich at Koller Auktionen!
I'm incredibly excited about this and extremely grateful for the opportunity Koller Auctions has given me.

After the remarkable success of selling the first complete T. rex skeleton outside the US, and only the third one globally, we refused to rest on our laurels. Instead, we have chosen to embark on the journey of our third edition of ‘Out of This World,’ presenting to you a fresh and meticulously curated selection of Natural Wonders and Human Achievements.
