LED Strip Light Explosion !!!
A customer came to my store. He said that three years and a little over a month ago, he bought 25 meters of LED strip light online to install in his recessed ceiling.
A few days ago, he suddenly discovered that several sections of the strip were not working, and two other corner sections also had sections that were not working, totaling 10 meters.
So he contacted the online store's customer service to request a solution. Customer service said that the warranty was only three years, and they couldn't replace or repair it. Coincidentally, it broke down exactly after three years.
Fortunately, customer service said he could cut off the damaged sections, buy 10 meters of new light, and connect them. So he bought another 10 meters.
When the new strip arrived, he called an electrician to fix it. Just as the electrician turned on the lights to check where it needed replacing, suddenly, there was a loud bang, startling them all, followed by a strong burning smell. They immediately cut off the power.
Afterwards, they removed the strip and found several sections burned from the explosion.
He said somewhat helplessly that he would have to look for LED strips with a warranty of more than five years in the future.
