A good trend direction is only useful if I can turn it into a producible collection.

This is the thinking behind our latest GARDEN PANTRY SS27–SS28 Guide Book.

I wanted this collection to feel more expressive and more commercial at the same time—not simply putting the same pattern across different shapes.

So we separated the roles.

Hand painting carries the folk botanical story.
Color-glaze relief creates stronger shapes and tactile value.
Quiet pieces give the collection balance.

Then we extended the idea from tableware into bakers, serveware and smaller giftable forms, because I believe buyers need to see how one design direction can become a broader retail program—not just one attractive plate.

From my P&SCM perspective, this is also where design and sourcing meet.

A concept still needs the right product, quality, price, quantity, time and place. That means considering brush strokes, glaze tolerances, relief construction and production consistency while we are still designing—not after sampling has already started.

For me, AI can accelerate the visualization.
But factory knowledge determines whether the idea can become a real product.
