When I need a super large stamp, it’s usually a stencil I make.

To get the same paint effects as a stamp, I cut up these cheapie car wash sponges and use to “paint”

This has become a favorite workaround

The most tedious part of painting is after a painting is done.

Sealing the paint. If the painting is staying in Costa Rica, then also sealing the backs and as much wood as possible of the canvas.

Why do I seal the backs here?

There’s a pet painting of Stan at Stan's Café that’s been there a few years. Last year, Stan crossed the rainbow bridge. His dog parents asked to add his dates on the canvas. Because I had sealed the back of the canvas, cleaning the normal dust etc was easy. Also easy was no mold!

This means that if you want a painting in CR from me, I’m going to make it as easy care and maintenance possible in the hot and humid conditions we have.

If you’re somewhere else, I still do some finish work for you. I just can do less because more likely your painting will be in drier climate and or air conditioning !
