When Hurricane Irma knocked down a pine tree in 2018, most people would have seen a mess to clean up. Paul Richardson saw something else entirely. He saw potential, beauty, and the beginning of something meaningful. That fallen pine became the very first piece of what is now Our Whatknots LLC, and Paul has been turning raw wood into handcrafted works of art ever since.

What started as a passion project fueled by curiosity and a love for the craft has grown over six years into a full-time pursuit of artistry, precision, and purposeful design. Paul spent five years honing his skills part-time, learning every detail of working with premium wood slabs, resin, and finish work, not because he had to, but because he genuinely cares about getting it right. One year ago, he made it official, going full-time and dedicating himself completely to bringing one-of-a-kind furniture into homes across Florida.

Every dining table, coffee table, side table, wine rack, cribbage board, chess board, and custom piece that leaves his shop is built entirely by hand. No shortcuts. No duplicates. No two pieces are ever the same. Paul works directly with every client to understand their space, vision, and story, because, to him, the best furniture is furniture that means something to the person who owns it.

This is what shopping local really looks like. It is not just supporting a small business. It is investing in someone who genuinely puts themselves into what they do and sends something out the door only when it is truly ready.
