A new city-wide design festival:
Currents. Design in Berlin
We warmly invite you to two exhibitions we are hosting on Wielandstraße as part of the newly launched design festival Currents. Design in Berlin.
Firstly, we are showcasing furniture and lighting by Victor Foxtrot and celebrating our new collaboration with the Hamburg-based label.
Secondly, we are showcasing ‘missing part:Moormann’, a collection of works by students from the Product Design course at the Weißensee Academy of Art. At Modus, we have a long-standing tradition of engaging with architecture, design and Berlin’s art academies, which we bring to life through exhibitions and discussions with the designers.
Currents was founded by freelance journalists Laura Ewert and Jasmin Jouhar and aims to strengthen our city’s identity as a centre of design. Currents takes place at around 40 venues with over 50 participants and is aimed equally at the general public and industry professionals.

Carolin Kreidel and Florian Vogel from Victor Foxtrot, the students and Professor Jakob Timpe will be in attendance to demonstrate how different stakeholders from academia and design practice enrich the design scene.

Fri 11 September 2026 11 am – 2 pm
Presentation of the Victor Foxtrot collection
Carolin Kreidel and Florian Vogel will provide an insight into Victor Foxtrot’s collection, working methods and local production.

10–12 September 2026
During opening hours from 10.00 am to 6.30 pm and on Saturday from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm, anyone interested is invited to visit the exhibitions and come and chat with us.

Sechs fröhliche Frauen am Ende eines schönen Abends!
Nach einer interessanten Präsentation von Maria Piera Marquina über die Hintergründe der neuen Teppichkollektion von Nanimarquina , die auf Original Kunstwerken von Lucia Eames basiert, sitzen wir zusammen und plaudern über die Entwicklung einer Marke und über die Perspektiven unserer langjährigen, tollen Zusammenarbeit. Wieder einmal wird klar, wie schön es ist, wenn man die Personen und die Ideen, die hinter Produkten stehen, näher kennenlernt.

Following an interesting talk by Maria Piera Marquina on the background to Nanimarquina’s new carpet collection, inspired by Lucia Eames’ original artworks, we sat down together and chatted about the development of a brand and the prospects for our fantastic, long-standing collaboration. Once again, it became clear just how wonderful it is to get to know the people and ideas behind the products a little better.

Nanimarquina präsentiert bei Modus die Lucia Eames Teppichkollektion, die auf Originalkunstwerken der amerikanischen Künstlerin Lucia Eames, der einzigen Tochter von Charles Eames, basiert.

Im Mittelpunkt des Abends steht ein Gespräch mit Maria Piera Marquina, der Geschäftsführerin von Nanimarquina, die uns Einblicke in diese außergewöhnliche Zusammenarbeit, die Materialauswahl und die speziellen Herstellungstechniken geben wird.

Lucia Eames and Nanimarquina
At Modus, Nanimarquina is presenting the Lucia Eames carpet collection, which is based on original works of art by the American artist Lucia Eames, the only daughter of Charles Eames.

The highlight of the evening will be a conversation with Maria Piera Marquina, Managing Director of Nanimarquina, who will give us an insight into this extraordinary collaboration, the choice of materials and the special manufacturing techniques.
