Hand made ECO candles, home fragrances and skincare. Wrapped up in an environmentally conscious pack

To give people back the power of nature, the source from which we all originate but have lost in modern times. To generate warmth and light which emanates from candles with stories. This was and still is the simple and honest mission with which Ieva Dexter and Elina Cima created the Munio Candela brand and the first collection of candles in 2008. In Latin, Munio Candela means “the most spiritually powerful candle”. Every candle is carefully and lovingly made by hand using only 100% natural soy wax and aromas. Nurtured by Latvian master craftsmen, the candles feature high quality design.

This time of year, I’m definitely not a “one scent in one room” kind of person.

Apple Spice, Cinnamon, Clove & Orange — mix them, layer them, move them around the house.

There are no rules. Just make home smell the way you want it to feel. 🤍

September at The Munio 🍂

While nature outside was slowly beginning to quiet down, our studio seemed to do exactly the opposite. 😄

This month we...

🤍 continued sharing the people and stories behind The Munio;

🌿 welcomed something completely new — our Room Sprays (have you had a chance to try them yet?);

🍎 brought back Apple Spice, Cinnamon and Clove & Orange (sweater, tea & candle season is officially here!);

🌲 went to the forest to gather juniper and heather (honestly, one of my favourite parts of the job);

📦 packed and sent lots of your orders around Latvia and beyond;

✨ and quietly continued working on a new fragrance and a very special collaboration that I can’t wait to tell you more about.

And somewhere between all of that, it’s been so lovely to see more and more of you visiting us in person, smelling the scents, finding your favourites and sometimes simply staying for a little chat.

I think sweater, tea & candle season has officially begun. 🍂🕯️

There’s something about this time of year that always makes me want to be home a little more. To make tea, light a candle, wrap myself in something warm and let the evenings become slower again.

And with autumn comes a certain kind of nostalgia too. The smell of freshly baked apple cake. Cinnamon. Oranges with cloves. Scents that somehow take me straight back to cosy kitchens, family gatherings and the anticipation of Christmas.

So I’m very happy to say that three of your (and our) favourite seasonal scents are back. 🤍

There’s something about autumn that naturally makes me want to slow down and turn inward. 🍂

And one of my favourite ways to do that is a proper sauna ritual.

For me, the sauna is one of those rare places where I can really switch off. No phone, nowhere to rush, nothing that needs my attention for a while.

Just warmth, a good body scrub, sauna whisking, and afterwards, body oil on warm skin. Taking my time with each little step and simply being there.

Nothing complicated, but I always leave feeling a little lighter, calmer and more like myself again. 🤍

What’s your favourite ritual that brings you back to a sense of calm when the days outside start getting colder?

I don’t think there’s just one way to make a home smell beautiful. 🤍

For me, each home fragrance has its own moment.

✨ A candle is for slowing down — when I want not only the scent, but also the warmth and atmosphere of the flame.

✨ A diffuser quietly works in the background, keeping a familiar fragrance in the room throughout the day.

✨ And our new Room Spray is for those moments when I want fragrance right now — after cleaning, before guests arrive, or simply when I want to change the feeling of a room.

And the best part is that you don’t have to choose just one.

I love combining them — keeping a diffuser in the room, lighting a candle in the evening, and adding a few sprays whenever I want the scent to feel a little more present.

Different rituals. Different moments. The same nature-inspired scents we love.

Hi, I'm Laura. 👋

After Elīna shared her story, I thought it was only fair that I shared a little of mine too.

Two years ago, I packed my life into boxes and moved to Berlin.
It was one of the scariest decisions I've ever made, but looking back, I think those are often the moments that shape us the most.

One thing I try to do every day is notice a moment that made me genuinely happy.
Nothing big. Just something worth remembering.

I'm also someone who recharges in quiet. Give me a peaceful morning, a little time alone, and I feel like myself again.

And when I'm not at The Munio store in Berlin, you'll probably find me cooking for the people I love.

Above everything, though, my girls are my greatest motivation. They remind me every day why it's worth being brave.

Looking back, I think all of these little pieces have quietly found their way into The Munio too.

August at The Munio 🤍

Usually, August is one of those months when things slow down a little before autumn begins.

This year… not so much. 😊

Our studio was busy with your orders, new ideas and lots of preparations for the season ahead — and honestly, it made me very happy to see how The Munio continues to grow.

A few little August moments:

🤍 We started our new People Behind The Munio series, and I went first — sharing a little more about the person behind the brand.

✨ We welcomed our new Body Lotions to the body care family.

🌲 We announced our next autumn forest walk & natural fragrance workshop, and you filled every available spot incredibly quickly.

👭 I also had the special joy of having my sister Laura back in Latvia. She runs our The Munio store in Germany, so we spend much of the year working from different countries. That makes the moments when we’re together even more special.

🌸 We started saying goodbye to our Spring / Summer scents to make space for a new season.

🎥 And behind the scenes, we've been creating, planning and filming a lot.

It feels like a very full autumn is waiting for us, and I can't wait to share more of it with you.
