A little insight into today’s work at the Auris manufacture. 🔨✨

Every single step shapes the unique sound of the gong. Just a few impressions from today’s process.

This is called scraping, and it’s one of the most important steps in gong making.

We cut into the metal to release the tension caused by hours of hammering. This relieves the stress, making the gong sound way more free, open, and responsive. Every single line has to be perfectly aligned with the compass mark no shaking, no slipping allowed. 🛠️

Scraping always looks so easy, but don’t underestimate how much strength it takes! 💪🏼
