Here in the winter holidays, I find myself thinking back to our New Year’s Eve in Hamburg.

We returned to a place we had already fallen for in September – and celebrating the new year there with dear friends felt completely right.

That already says something.

Good food.
A proper bar.
Laughter around the table.

Warm colours. Layered textures. Pattern against pattern.
Wallpaper used with confidence.
💚And that bold green ceiling – slightly daring, slightly cheeky – and absolutely the right choice.

I love places that are not afraid to commit.
Where the atmosphere is carefully built.
Where you feel inspired just by walking through the rooms.

Hamburg is always worth a visit.
But returning to a place with personality makes it even more special.

Some places you visit once.
Others you return to.

I have been working on four dining room proposals for my uncle – all created to live in harmony with his Bornholm clock and sideboard.

The sideboard was originally designed by my grandmother for her own dining room.

The space already holds strong stories, beautiful craftsmanship and a beloved rug – so the task was never to change it, but to interpret it with care.

Some proposals are more modern, others stay closer to the original expression, but all explore the balance between tradition and a modern touch. Now I’m excited to see just how brave my uncle is – and what he chooses.

For me, good design is about connecting the past and the present – not choosing between them.

Color can completely transform a room.
It sets the tone, brings life, and creates atmosphere. But knowing where to begin isn’t always easy. How bold do you want to be with color? And how do you actually bring it into your home in a way that feels right?

Feeling brave? Paint the window frame in the same color as the ceiling to create a cohesive, color-rich space with loads of character.

Milan Furniture Fair has come to an end — and even though I didn’t go this year, I’ve truly enjoyed soaking up all the inspiration that’s been shared.

So here’s a little inspiration of my own — right here from Copenhagen.

It may not be Milan, but this city has its own kind of magic — especially when the sun is out.

From a vase with hand-painted text and delicate paper flowers, to a window showcasing a yellow Eilersen sofa. A café table painted directly onto the glass...

From chocolate and flowers in a room bathed in deep blue, to a tunnel made of paper and a door carved like a fairytale.

Copenhagen is full of small wonders. It never ceases to amaze.

A gentle reminder that beauty is everywhere — sometimes you just have to slow down and look up.
