Things are starting to get pretty strange at prompt 4 for “Destroy This Quilt”. My landscape has now turned into a face. Do you see it? 😬 I’m working with some t-shirt material, folds, and lots of free motion scribbles. This quilt is not going to be flat and square! Kind of a strange color palette (and a tiny part of a much larger work), but I want to remember this combo for the future. I have always loved pink and green and I am currently embracing using more brown in my work. And don’t the hand dyed fabrics look great here?!

And now she has a friend! I’m not sure how I should use these to raise funds for my shelter; they are about 12x14. Does anyone have an opinion on whether it would be better to put a bunch into a quilt and raffle it or quilt each panel as original pieces or art? Help me decide!

I really love making these quilted vases. This tiny 6 inch vase is made with an old jar, batting cut offs, and my natural dye scraps. If you are interested in making your own, .parkes has a great on-demand fabric vase class on her website.

I made this fabric vase! It slips on and off a recycled glass bottle so you can fill it with water. It’s a great design and .parkes can teach you how to make your own. Her on demand class is so easy to follow and she teaches you everything you need to know to make a one of a kind vase. Next, I need to figure out how to make it twirl so you can see all the sides.

Piecing my blocks together for this one and the blocks are not irregular like this. I was just trying to take a pic while I held the quilt against the wall with my other hand. But, now I really wish it was like this! Guess I am going to have to make another quilt.

Spent the morning sitting in the English Garden drawing little sketches of inspiring quilts. This one is based on something recently posted.

I’m tired of traveling and can’t wait to get back home to the shelter dogs, my garden, cheap taco, and my sewing machine.

This is the project I have been taking with me when I travel for the last two years. I don’t touch it when I am home. These strips appliquéd with “thumbprints” fit easily into the little pouch I made out of scraps and take up very little space. Sometimes I only manage to stitch one or two, but it is nice to know I have some sewing near by.

I’m thrilled to be spending 10 days in Iceland right now. Yellow grass, green moss, volcanic rock, and waterfalls everywhere! I’ll be throwing up lots of photos in my stories.
