After the mountains, valleys and centuries-old traditions of the Andes, Lima offered an entirely different rhythm. Especially Barranco, the city’s creative quarter, immediately drew me in; a neighbourhood filled with art, colour, beautiful architecture and places that invite you to stop, look and discover.
One of them was Dédalo Arte y Artesanía, where contemporary Peruvian design, art and craftsmanship come together under one roof. Exactly the kind of place where I can happily lose track of time – wandering from room to room, discovering objects, materials and ideas along the way.
And sometimes, looking turns into finding.
Somewhere along my explorations of Peru, I came across a beautiful vintage rug from the 1990s at **PUSHKA DESIGN** 🌵🌈🏔💗 in Cusco. A piece with character and a story of its own and one that will now continue its journey together with some other special finds from Peru to Munich and, eventually, into the REMADE Interior showroom.
Perhaps that’s what I love most about sourcing while travelling: you never quite know what you will find. A piece of craftsmanship, an artist, a material, an unexpected object or simply a new way of looking at things.
This time, a little piece of Lima is coming home with me.
