A SPACE TO ARRIVE.

What does it really mean to arrive?

We spend so much of our lives moving from one place to another, from one task to the next. But how often do we truly feel present in the spaces we inhabit?

Why do some places make us feel instantly at ease, while others leave us restless or somehow out of place?

And how much of that feeling comes from the space itself — and how much from what we bring into it?

Together with Raha from , I'm bringing these questions into a shared experience.

A SPACE TO ARRIVE is an intimate, interactive workshop exploring the relationship between body, mind and space.

We'll begin with Raha guiding us through gentle yoga, breath awareness and mindful movement — an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with our bodies and become more present.

From there, we'll shift our attention to the spaces around us. Through spatial awareness, guided reflection and a personal spatial map, we'll explore what makes a place feel supportive — and what we need to feel more at home in our everyday surroundings.

And then we'll bring both perspectives together, exploring how movement, our surroundings and our personal needs relate to one another.

Not about designing the perfect home.

But about understanding what makes a space work for you.

A selection of objects that have been part of MAMO over the past years.

Chosen at different moments, for different reasons — a particular shape, an unexpected colour, a material or detail I wanted to keep looking at.

Living with objects also means reconsidering them. Some remain. Others are ready to leave the collection and enter a new context.

This week, I am editing the MAMO archive.

Maresa Notices 02 — A composition that leans.

I notice arrangements that are slightly off-balance.

Here, the flowers move in different directions. One side feels dense, while the other reaches beyond the vase. The vessel is solid and geometric, but the flowers refuse to stay contained.

That tension is what makes the arrangement feel alive to me.

MAMO ARCHIVE DAYS

MAMO is changing.

Over the past years, our studio has collected furniture, objects, books, lighting, tableware, textiles and pieces from many different chapters of MAMO.

Now, we are making space for what comes next.

For two days, we are opening the MAMO Archive — with selected studio pieces, display models, past collections and remaining objects available at special archive prices.

Reading a Room 02 — The threshold belongs to the room.

Two transparent chairs sit outside the window. Because they barely interrupt the view, the street, the glass and the interior begin to overlap.

What I notice here is not only the chairs, but the relationship they create: a small place to pause before entering, and a softer edge between inside and outside.

The room begins before the door.

MAMO in Progress — Editing the display.

This display came together through very small shifts: moving one object, changing the distance between two others, leaving more empty space.

I am not looking for a perfectly styled shelf. I am looking for a composition in which each object can be seen — and the room can still breathe.

Often, the most important decision is what not to add.

Maresa Notices 01 — When repetition becomes rhythm.

I took this photograph at the Louise Roe Gallery during 3daysofdesign 2025 in Copenhagen because my eye kept moving between the Pipe Chandelier and the glass wall behind it.

The vertical lines repeat, but never in exactly the same way. Light, glass and metal begin to answer one another.

I am often drawn to rooms where objects do not stand alone. They become part of a larger rhythm.

Reading a Room 01 — Not everything has to match.

The dark leather sofa feels strong and almost sculptural. Then there are the apples on the floor. Their colour changes the whole image for me.

I like that they are simply there — not arranged in a bowl, not placed where we expect them.

It is often these small, temporary moments that stop a room from feeling too perfect. I want rooms to feel considered, but never so finished that everyday life seems out of place.

A room can feel considered without looking finished.
