Simple and minimal shapes are achieved by playing with clay colors and texture to realize functional products, from tableware to home decor.

The table is set!

Tomorrow I will finally start working on the new collection.

Although I have not yet settled on all the pieces that will be part of it, for sure there will be sets of bowls of assorted sizes, for breakfast, noodles, rice and dips.

I am also considering different textures like chattering and glazes techniques, like the irregular green bowl you see in the first picture.
In general It will be a less structured collection but more of unique and diversified pieces.

The last month has been so intensive, with moving into a new apartment (close to the studio, thankfully) and the workshop in Frankfurt that I can't wait to go into production mode and bring to life all the ideas and prototypes I have collected so far.

The shop should be update for the end of May 🤞

POV: when you just unpack the kiln and see new prototypes that look so nice in new glazes like chattered plates, tiny bowls..
.that gives you immediately that Izakaya feeling..
.that you can't wait for a proper set up for a shooting..
. and you only have in the studio a cup of cheap instant noodles and a pack of Uncles Ben's Zimt rice(why?!)..
. and realize that's all you need! 😅

I'm a bit obsessed with cake/pastry stands at the moment.

These are new objects for me and right now I've made three of them in different sizes and heights, glazed in black, ivory and denim.
There are some ideas that I want to test and this week I have some free time to work on it.

On the second picture you can see tests for a petit four set with lava glaze. The idea was to use a decorative glaze on a functional piece and...to have some fun!
.. These new pieces are a reminder to enjoy the process more and to get out of the comfort zone 😁

Looks like pizza dough..but it's just clay.

This is one of the tests I'm working with during class.

Now it's cooling down in the kiln.

Can't wait to see the outcome tomorrow.

LET THEM EAT CAKE 🍰

First attempt ever for a cake stand and I must say it's becoming one of my new favorite pieces to make.

It's basically just a plate and a cone to stick together but it could have been two bowls, or a bowl and cone..so many design options here.

I was worried that it could warp during firing but it didn't.
The trick was probably to have a cone with thick walls as a base, but I'm not sure.

Or what's your take on it? If you make these shapes do you have any tips to avoid warping?

There are a couple of these that will be fired soon, hope they'll be ok like this one.

Grateful for any advice!
