Last Round: The Bookbox

Some objects hold things. A few hold meaning.
The Box was the very first of August Sandgren’s aesthetic boxes, and it remains the one you reach for most. We first called it the Bookbox, after the beautiful old boxes people once made to guard their most treasured books, the volumes deemed worth protecting, worth keeping close.
That’s still the feeling we wanted to keep alive in it. A place for the things you don’t want to lose. Letters, keepsakes, the small objects that carry more than their size suggests.

After a lot of thought, we’ve decided to let August Sandgren rest for a while.
We love this brand. We love the partners and customers who grew it with us, and we love the people and the craft behind every piece we’ve made. But somewhere between a small start-up and a big business lies an endless stretch of hours, costs, and quiet ups and downs, and right now, we’ve decided to step off that path for a bit.

It isn’t easy to write this. We know many of you have carried our things through your days, your offices, your gifts to the people you love, and that means more to us than we can say.
