One year = 2634 light measurements. This is what NVC https://www.nvcuk.com/news/view/nvc-lighting's-photometric-labs-gain-lia-registration-111 has achieved after getting their Viso LabSpion https://www.visosystems.com/products/labspion/ light measurement system in place in March 2024. To put things in perspective, we usually claim that system Return-On-Investment is around 100-150 measurements.

NVC Lighting Ltd, Birmingham, UK, added the new Viso goniospectrometer solution to its LIA certificate (TSD-003 Gonio Photometry Scheme).

This prestigious certification is held by only 10 laboratories in the UK and ensures that NVC products comply with the relevant regulations and standards.

CB certification is administered by theLIA and is part of the CB Scheme, a global system for the mutual recognition of test results and certificates relating to the safety of electrical and electronic products.

CKZE in Croatia acchieves EN 13032-4 acreditation.

The laboratory named Centre of competence for green energy (CKZE) in Rugvica, which offers testing of the photometric and colorimetric parameters of the luminaires, has obtained EN ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for the standard EN 13032-4. Their lighting laboratory has been accredited in May 2024. The laboratory is equipped with Viso LabSpion https://www.visosystems.com/products/labspion/ and supports and measures the street lighting luminaires and offers testing capabilities to all manufacturers on an open market principle, mainly on Croatian, Serbian, Bosnian and Slovenian area.

An important milestone

Head of laboratory in CKZE, Vedran Momčilović says: "The accreditation is important for us. Not only are measurements from an accredited laboratory often a regulatory requirement in large lighting tenders, but the accreditation process is also of great value to us in terms of internal competence building. A major milestone has been reached".

The accreditation process can take slightly different forms depending on which accreditation body that is chosen. Viso Systems https://www.visosystems.com/, the main supplier of the measuring equipment, has supported CKZE all the way with various types of documentation.

Christian Krause, Director of Viso Systems, states: "It is important for Viso Systems to be a constructive and responsive partner in the accreditation processes. This seal of approval is, of course, first and foremost the customer's, but it also applies to Viso's equipment.

MANDATORY: Although it has been mandatory to upload your luminaire and light source data to the European Product Registry for Energy Labelling (EPREL) database since January 2019, some still don't. You are responsible if you are putting such products on the market in the EU. There are almost no exceptions.

AVIATION LIGTING - DEMANDING LIGHT MEASUREMENTS.
It goes without saying that a light designed to be mounted on a wingtip or a fighter jet must be among the most rugged in the world, with very specific requirements for light distribution, strength, and color. Aveo Engineering is a leading manufacturer, and has customers all around the globe in the aerospace, marine, and vehicle industries. Customers include well-known brands like Bombardier, Piper, Boeing, and Cessna, for whom EASA STC certification is absolutely essential.
NEW LIGHT LABORATORY FACILITY
For this reason, it’s also a great pleasure for Viso Systems to collaborate with Aveo, who has chosen Viso LabSpion (https://www.visosystems.com/labspion) with LabRail for their new laboratory at the factory in the Czech Republic. With LabSpion, the testing procedures have been significantly improved and shortened – especially for strobe lights, which are typically anti-collision lights mounted on wingtips. Look out the window on your next flight and notice these wingtip strobe lights. For Aveo, it used to take days to measure these lights, but with the revolutionary Viso LabAnalyzer (https://www.visosystems.com/labanalyzer), it now takes no longer than other fixtures, approximately half an hour at a high detail. The light measurement can be conducted while the lamp is flashing, preventing it from overheating during the measurement process.
SPECIALIZED REPORTS FOR CERTIFICATION
Viso’s special reporting system ensures that Aveo can easily and safely produce the highly specialized reports that form the basis for crucial third-party approvals.
