How cute did these turn out?! 🤍✨

Can you relate to this? My brain is constantly going, “What could I make with this?” whenever I’m browsing a thrift store 😂 I just love finding new uses for old things!

These glass stoppers from old decanters are often super cheap at thrift stores and make the perfect little bases for bowls. Add some moss, hyacinths and candles, and you have simple but beautiful Christmas decorations! ✨

I’d recommend using a two-part epoxy adhesive for this project, but I didn’t have any at home, so I used super glue instead.

A simple Christmas centerpiece on a budget 🤍🌲

I thrifted this soup bowl, picked some greenery from the garden and bought a few inexpensive roses from the supermarket.

Instead of floral foam, I used old newspaper scrunched up in water to hold the stems in place. And for the candleholders? Three potatoes from the fridge! 🥔 I secured them with hot glue and covered them with extra greenery.

Sometimes, all you need is a little creativity and things you already have at home ✨

🕯️ A little safety note: I used real candles because I didn’t have LED candles in the right size. However, I highly recommend LED candles for this decoration, as fresh greenery can catch fire if it gets too close to an open flame. Never leave burning candles unattended.

A simple DIY that turns velvet ribbon into a Christmas wreath ❤️🎄

This one took me straight back to childhood, when we made all kinds of decorations using little pieces of tissue paper. It’s such a simple, cosy and satisfying project, and I love how the deep red velvet almost gives the wreath a hydrangea-like look.

All you need is:
❤️ A foam wreath
❤️ Velvet ribbon
❤️ Scissors

Cut the ribbon into small pieces and gently push them into the foam wreath using the tip of your scissors. Keep going until it’s nice and full!

⚠️ Don’t push the ribbon too far into the foam, or the wreath may crack.

Hang it on your door, use it as a table decoration or style it around a candle 🕯️

Now I’m wondering… should I try making matching Christmas ornaments too? ❤️

I was going to paint my old, not-so-pretty Christmas ornaments… 🎄

Then a pack of balloons happened to be lying right in front of me, and I thought, “Wait… could I stretch a balloon over an old ornament and skip the painting altogether?” 😂

Well, guess what? IT WORKED! 🤗

Honestly, I love it when a random idea actually works!

✨ Here’s how to do it:

1. Cut the tip off a balloon.
2. Remove the cap from your Christmas ornament.
3. Place the ornament upside down in a shot glass to keep it steady.
4. Stretch the balloon over the ornament.
5. Put the cap back on. Add a little glue if needed to secure it.
6. Decorate however you like! I used pearl beads to add some extra detail.
7. Add a ribbon for hanging, and voilà! You have your own upcycled Christmas ornaments ❤️

I can imagine these hanging from a big, rustic branch for a simple but beautiful Christmas decoration. Or leave off the ribbons and use them as decorative baubles in a bowl 🤍

Such a fun and budget-friendly way to give old ornaments a whole new look instead of buying new ones!

Would you try this? 👀❤️

I have a bit of a thing for dried oranges… 🍊🤎

I found a Christmas bauble and thought, why not glue dried orange slices all over it? And honestly, I think it turned out pretty cute!

Just make sure your orange slices are completely dried before using them.

Now I’m wondering if I should try making a lampshade covered in dried oranges too. Is that taking it too far? 😂 I feel like I’m gluing dried orange slices onto absolutely everything at the moment! ..and pine cones 🤎

Anyway, I hope this inspires you to make your own little orange Christmas bauble. These can be hung indoors, too ✨

Would you try this DIY? And should I make that orange lampshade? 👀🤭

🇬🇧 English first · 🇩🇰 Dansk nedenfor | I grew up with a traditional Scandinavian Advent candle arch in the window, lit from the first Sunday of Advent, and I’ve always found it so cosy ✨

It’s not quite Christmas yet, but the days are getting darker, and I love finding little ways to bring some light into the garden. So I thought… why not make a BIG outdoor version of the traditional arched Christmas candle holder? 🎄

All you need is a few pieces of wood to build the frame, some feet to make it stand, and your favourite greenery to decorate it. Add a string of lights, and you have your own oversized Christmas decoration to brighten up those dark days 🤍

Would you make one for your garden?

Who knew a potato could be so useful for Christmas decorating? 🥔✨

I’ve made this hanging Christmas greenery ball without floral foam, and I honestly think using a potato is such a clever idea!

Now I’m already planning my next experiment… 👀 What if I use small potatoes as a base for mini arrangements, or place one on top of a pine cone and decorate it with greenery?

I have no idea if it will work yet, but that’s half the fun of creating! Follow along to see what I come up with next 🎄✨
