**A BEAUTIFUL ROOM CAN STILL HAVE TERRIBLE CIRCULATION | | |

A room can look perfect in a photograph and still be frustrating to use every day.

The sofa may be beautiful.

The dining table may be perfectly styled.

The lighting may be impressive.

But if you have to squeeze between furniture, walk around obstacles, or cross the main seating area every time you move through the house, something is wrong.

**Circulation is not leftover space.**

It is part of the design.

Furniture placement, door swings, clearances, and the relationship between rooms determine how naturally people move through a home.

**Good circulation is almost invisible. You notice it most when it is bad.**

What bothers you more: a narrow passage or furniture constantly blocking the way?

THE BEST ROOM MAY BE THE ONE THAT CAN CHANGE | | |

We usually design rooms by giving them a name.

Living room.
Dining room.
Office.
Guest room.

But the way we live keeps changing.

A dining table becomes a workspace.
A guest room becomes an office.
A terrace becomes another living room.
A movable partition can completely change how two spaces interact.

Good residential design is not only about making every square meter beautiful.

It is about allowing the house to adapt without feeling improvised.

Sometimes flexibility is more valuable than adding another room.

Would you prefer one larger flexible space — or several smaller rooms with fixed functions?

YOU DON’T EXPERIENCE A CITY FROM THE SKY. YOU EXPERIENCE IT AT EYE LEVEL | | |

Maps show streets.

Drone photos show skylines.

But that is not how we actually experience a city.

We experience it through the width of a sidewalk.

The shade under a balcony.

The scale of a doorway.

A café spilling into the street.

Trees separating pedestrians from traffic.

A narrow passage suddenly opening into a plaza.

That is why cities like Madrid, Paris, Barcelona, Sevilla or Venice can feel completely different even before you look at their famous monuments.

Good urban design is often understood at walking speed.

Sometimes the most memorable part of a trip is not the landmark.

It is the street that took you there.

THE MOST UNDERRATED ROOM IN A HOUSE MAY NOT HAVE A ROOF | | |

Some of the best spaces in a house are not completely inside.

And not completely outside either.

A courtyard can bring daylight deep into the plan.

Create privacy without closing the house.

Improve natural ventilation.

Give several rooms a view without exposing them to the street.

And sometimes turn an ordinary circulation space into one of the most memorable parts of the project.

The interesting part is that a courtyard is not simply landscaping placed inside architecture.

It can organize the architecture itself.

Bedrooms can face it.
Living areas can open toward it.
Hallways can wrap around it.
Light can change through it during the day.

Sometimes removing a piece of the building creates more value than adding another room.

A BEAUTIFUL INTERIOR CAN STILL BE TERRIBLE TO LIVE IN | | |

A room can look incredible in a photograph.

Perfect furniture.
Perfect styling.
Perfect lighting.

But then you actually have to live in it.

Where do you put your keys?

Where do you charge your phone?

Can you walk around the dining table comfortably?

Is there enough storage?

Can you open a cabinet without hitting something else?

Does the bedroom work when the curtains are closed and the bed is actually being used?

Good interior design is not only about creating beautiful images.

It is about making everyday life easier without making the design feel compromised.

The best spaces can do both.

A ROOM CAN BE BEAUTIFUL AND STILL HAVE NO IDENTITY | | |

A beautiful room is not automatically a memorable room.

You can have:

Good furniture.
Good lighting.
Good materials.
Perfect proportions.

And still end up with a space that feels like it could belong to anyone.

Identity comes from the decisions that give a room a point of view.

The artwork.
The color palette.
The way materials are combined.
The objects that feel personal.
The details that make the space specific instead of generic.

The goal is not to make every room louder.

It is to make it recognizable.

Because good design should not only look correct.

It should feel like it belongs somewhere — and to someone.

AN EXPENSIVE MATERIAL CAN STILL LOOK CHEAP IN THE WRONG DETAIL | | |

Marble does not automatically create luxury.

Neither does wood.
Brass.
Stone.
Custom cabinetry.

The material may be beautiful — but the detail determines how we perceive it.

A badly placed joint.
An awkward edge.
Poor alignment.
A transition that was never really designed.

These small decisions can make an expensive interior feel surprisingly ordinary.

Great interiors are not defined only by what materials were selected.

They are defined by how those materials meet.

Seville can teach you about shade, courtyards and the power of the street.

Madrid can show how public space, façades and plazas create urban identity.

Venice proves that movement, water, scale and history can completely redefine how we experience a city.

The Algarve reminds us that landscape can become part of the architecture itself.

And Paris shows how cafés, sidewalks, façades and everyday life can turn the street into a social space.

The best trips do more than give us photographs.

They quietly change the references we carry into every future design.

WHEN EVERYTHING IS A FOCAL POINT, NOTHING IS | | |

Es mucho más visual, permite interiores espectaculares y además genera discusión sobre diseño.

A room can have beautiful furniture, expensive materials, art, lighting and decoration…

…and still feel completely chaotic.

Why?

Because everything is asking for attention at the same time.

Good interiors create hierarchy.

One element leads.
Others support it.
Some areas remain deliberately quiet.

A fireplace.
A piece of art.
A view.
A sculptural stair.
A dramatic light fixture.

The focal point does not need to be the most expensive thing in the room.

It simply needs to be the element your eye understands first.

If everything screams, the room has nothing to say.

NOT EVERY SQUARE METER DESERVES TO BE FILLED | | |

We are often taught to make every space “useful.”

Add furniture.
Add storage.
Add decoration.
Give every corner a function.

But sometimes the most valuable part of a room is precisely the part we leave alone.

Empty space can bring light deeper into a room.
It can create visual pause.
It can make circulation clearer.
It can give important elements more presence.

And it can make a small space feel much larger than it really is.

Good architecture is not only about what you add. It is also about what you have the confidence to leave empty.
