Dear friends, long time no see!

Now that the holiday season — including our little holiday from social media — is over, we’re starting the new autumn season with a fresh batch of production photos from our Saros Light facility.

Currently in production: a 3-metre-diameter suspended with an body, powder-coated in a rather unconventional color for us — bright red — and two “soft” .

And yes, I do mean TWO.

Because if you want to protect your beautiful main diffuser from unpleasant surprises such as dead insects, dust and other things that somehow always find their way inside, it’s really worth adding one extra transparent protective layer. A small detail that can save quite a lot of frustration later.

This beautiful piece is around 3 meters in diameter, as mentioned above, and there is one more challenge: it has to travel all the way to the USA.

Which means extra attention to packaging.
Sometimes getting our products safely to their final destination feels more complicated than producing them in the first place.

So when this one starts its journey across the ocean, we’ll definitely be keeping our fingers crossed.

For now, we can only show you the conceptual 3D model and real photos straight from the production floor — actual manufacturing, actual materials, actual work in progress. No AI-generated production shots here! The technical drawings stay behind the scenes, but we’re very much looking forward to receiving real photos of the finished from our dear partners in the USA.

People usually know us for , and all those things that make interiors look nice and sound better.

But every now and then our metal workshop quietly reminds everyone that it exists too.

This project is a good example.

For one of our long-term partners, , we manufactured and powder-coated these decorative steel beams for a . They sent us the idea, we turned it into reality, and judging by the feedback, everyone was happy with the result.

We've been working with the guys for several years. They produce beautiful custom-made furniture, always with great quality and attention to detail. Whenever our clients ask if we know a good company for bespoke furniture, Meister is one of the first names we recommend. We've trusted them with furniture for our own office, and we're always happy to recommend them to others.

If you only know Saros as "the stretch ceiling company", here's a little secret: that's only part of what we do.

We also have our own metal fabrication workshop, where we manufacture our . Alongside that, we regularly produce and carry out subcontracting work for large industrial companies.

Why are we all so obsessed with the sky?
Maybe it's humanity's eternal dream of flying. Or perhaps it's our endless curiosity about what lies beyond the clouds.

In almost 20 years of Saros, we've noticed one design trend that simply refuses to go away: the .

By now we've built quite a collection of sky prints. Deep blue skies, pale blue skies, dramatic clouds, barely-there clouds. Some people want sunshine, some want endless blue, some request a bird, others a tree branch sneaking into the frame. We've printed them on , , , even with to make the whole thing glow like nature... only with much better weather.

And then there's another option altogether: ready-made sky film.
Yes, it exists. And yes, it has its fans.

It also has one tiny feature that keeps our production team entertained: the clouds don't exactly enjoy lining up when several sheets have to be welded together. Suddenly you're no longer making a ceiling—you're solving the world's largest cloud puzzle, hoping every fluffy little cloud ends up exactly where Mother Nature definitely never intended it to be.

Luckily, we've become pretty good at this atmospheric jigsaw.

Now we're looking forward to the day we receive photos from a warm, faraway country, proving that this little piece of sky survived the journey and made it safely to the ceiling.

While the rest of Europe is melting in the heat, here in Estonia we're mostly hoping the rain doesn't wash us off the map. 🌧️😂

Funny enough, are a great idea in both cases.

In Southern Europe, you jump in to escape the sun.
In Estonia… you jump in to escape the weather and warm up in nice, cozy water. Same pool, completely different mission!!

One thing doesn't change, though: a is a perfect finish for a pool area.

✔️ It doesn't mind humidity.
✔️ Installation is fast and clean.
✔️ And if you're going to spend time looking up, why not choose your own sky? Blue skies, clouds, sunsets... or anything else you can imagine, printed right above your head.

A giant we have never made before… until now.

This one was a real challenge for our entire Saros team.

Almost 500 m² of in one single project — our new record!

Cutting the material, welding the seams, preparing all the openings, welding the harpoons… and doing all this on a ceiling of this size required maximum precision from everyone involved.

Long-distance delivery, serious transport costs, many hours of production work, and a very complex installation process — in short, the price of even a small mistake would have been very high.

So yes… we were all waiting for the client’s feedback holding our breath.

And… it worked! 🙌

Of course, we did our best and we are proud of our production team. But the installation team deserves a standing ovation. Handling a ceiling of this size on site is a completely different level.

Large stretch ceilings are always a bit of a quest. Besides the installation complexity, there is also the risk of noticeable sagging.

So, if you are planning something similar, here are a couple of practical tips from our experience:

✔ The more elements integrated into the ceiling ( , ventilation, technical openings), the better the tension distribution and the lower the sagging risk.

✔ If the surface is very large and completely uninterrupted — sometimes it is simply smarter to use a divider profile. Better safe than sorry.

What a relief and pleasure to see the final result and know that everything worked exactly as planned.

Dear friends, meet our new colleague — Dmitri!

Well… actually, Dmitri is not completely new to the world of .

Many years ago he started as our client, so luckily for us, words like profiles, films, harpoons and installation systems didn’t sound like a secret language from another planet. And believe me — when you need to introduce someone to our very specific world of stretch ceilings quickly, this helps a lot.

Dmitri has already jumped into work and is taking care of your orders and requests.

He is the person behind our general INFO mailbox and WhatsApp, helping with new inquiries, preparing offers and welcoming you when you visit our office in Narva.

And now a little bit about the person behind the emails — because life is not only about ceilings (although sometimes it feels like it is).

Dmitri enjoys books, movies and cycling. So… definitely our kind of person. We think we’ll get along just fine.

And again… let’s talk about “silent” walls.

This type of finishing is becoming more and more popular, and honestly, it’s easy to understand why. always brings a feeling of warmth and comfort, it is pleasant to touch, adds softness to the — and most importantly, it improves the inside the room.

But here comes one common misunderstanding: improve the sound INSIDE the room. They are not designed to block noise coming from OUTSIDE (maybe a little bit, but definitely not like proper sound insulation systems — that’s a completely different story with different materials).

A small real-life example about why acoustic treatment matters.

I go to dance classes. The studio is basically a big empty room: three painted walls and one mirror wall — so we can admire our amazing progress, of course. 😉

Our trainer is fantastic. She gives instructions loudly, energetically and in three languages. And believe me, her voice is strong enough. But… sometimes you can’t understand a thing. Not only the words — sometimes even the language is a mystery.

Why?

Because there is not a single surface in the room. Well… except for a few tiny textile elements we are wearing, but unfortunately our sports outfits are not doing a great job as acoustic panels. 😉

The sound simply bounces around, creating echo and noise. So no matter how loudly someone speaks, you still end up turning your head trying to see the instructions because hearing them is apparently not an option.

And this problem is not only in dance studios. It happens everywhere — homes, restaurants, beauty salons, offices, meeting rooms…

This is exactly where come in — in our case, acoustic walls and/or ceilings.

📍So what is a “silent wall”?

It’s a system made of an acoustic layer installed on the existing wall and a special stretched over it using a profile system.

And the good news: your original wall doesn’t need to be perfectly smooth or specially prepared.

We come, install the acoustic layer, stretch the textile — and voilà. You can continue making noise… but now in a much more pleasant way.

And if you add an as well — your ears might actually thank you.

There is a wide range of textile colors available. The fabric can also be printed in a custom color, or we can print your own design on it. So you get not only better acoustics, but also a unique interior element. (Check our pictures for inspiration.)
