The last 2 days of our 5-day sculpture course with James Oughtibridge Ceramics and Rebecca Appleby Ceramics were full of colours and emotions. It has been a worthy investment all in terms of time, money and connections we made. It has given me courage to follow the path I have recently taken and the understanding that not all art needs to be complicated and that there is a customer for every taste. The trick is to find it 💪

The third day with James and Rebecca . Loaded with creative energy and lots of clay. We continued slab-building and working on the surface of our sculptures. The 5-day course included a daily in-house lunch during which we had time to chat and get to know the other participants. The food was lovely. The working space of Clay Yorkshire is arranged practically on two floors of the studio. The upper floor overlooks the absolutely stunning and inspirational Yorkshire Sculpture Park. On the basement floor there is the proper daily work-space with kilns, shelves and storage as well as the dining area. The ground floor comprises of the more representative training and coworking space with a small kitchen area. Absolutely genius arrangement. So practical!

Oktoobri keskpaigast ehk täpsemalt alates 13.oktoobrist alustame meie uues, Raua 1 asuvas savistuudios koolilastele mõeldud saviringiga. Ootame lähikonna lapsi nautima savi mudimist ja oma kätega keraamika meisterdamist. See on hea nii motoorsete oskuste kui keskendumisvõime ja loomingulisuse arendamiseks. Samuti saab seeläbi maandatud koolistress ja loodetavasti unustatud muudki mured.

Oodatud on kõik lapsed, kes tulevad toime rühma koosseisus juhendatava iseseisva tööga. Palume jälgida, et erinevad vanusegrupid kogunevad veidi erinevatel aegadel.

On our Day 2 we kept on building our two sculptures practicing two different techniques. In the afternoon we enjoyed the sunny weather and a nice walk in the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. It is Europe's largest sculpture park with 500 acres of nature and world-class art. Meet Barbara Hepworth, Damien Hirst, Henry Moore and many more.

Ei raatsinud seda teist suurt kaussi müüki panna, vaid hoidsin endale. Väike auk põhja ja ongi lillepott valmis. Ka sellisena sobib see spade ja mõisahoonete või isegi eramajade fuajeedesse või kaunistama mõnda sissekäiku või aeda. Tellimused järgmiseks aastaks on teretulnud. Kuigi tehtud skulptuurisavist, meie talve see õues üle ei ela, vaid tuleb kindlasti sisse tõsta ja tühjendada. Samas võib tellida juba täna sellise otstarbega kausse nagu on Kurro loodusspaa soolasaunas. Peagi lisanduvad vaasid.

Nii tore, et mu suur 60cm diameetriga kauss on leidnud oma kodu Kurro loodusspaa kaunis soolasaunas. Need mereadru jäljendiga kausid on kindlasti mu lemmikud. See temaatika sobib suurepäraselt Kurro kontseptsiooniga looduslähedusest ja meeli puhastavast lihtsusest.

Sel laupäeval 20.juunil ootan kõiki huvilisi oma Raua 65 stuudiosse avatud savitundi keraamikat tegema vahemikus 12:00-17:00. Tule nagu sulle sobib ja veeda savi tehes 2 h. Kruusid, kausid, saviloomad, ehted, jpm - tee, mida soovid. Juhendab Ly Tiido.
1 x 2h = 45,00 eur (glasuurib juhendaja)
2 x 2h = 50,00 eur (1x valmib ese ja teine kord glasuurime).
