International Kohila Symposium | Exhibition
Just wrapped up an amazing journey at the “AFTER FIRE AFTERLIFE” exhibition.
29.09 – 19.10.2025
A huge thank you to all the visitors, audiences, coordinators, curators, and everyone involved in making this event a success. Your support means the world!
This exhibition brings together 25 years of sculptures from the international Kohila Symposium, creating a beautiful narrative of transformation and connection through clay. The sculptures are not just objects; they tell stories, each with its unique character and spirit.
/After more than two decades, many of these works are seeing the light of day once again. The sculptures in the exhibition are not treated as isolated objects but are arranged into organic groupings that link narratives from different years into a cohesive whole. …can be seen as an ecosystem where even the smallest sculpture can find new meaning alongside a larger one. /
Reflecting back on my memories from the 2021 Kohila Wood-Firing Symposium, I had the opportunity to work on my piece titled “Switch On/Off.” We visited an old factory in Kohila village, which was already abandoned, searching for objects that contain context. The theme that year was “light,” and I was truly impressed by how all the artists influenced each other.
You can relive the experience with a fantastic drone-video montage by Urmas Puhkan [here](https://youtu.be/y9mBoCeD0g8?feature=shared) and enjoy stunning photos by Taaniel Malleus.
Let’s continue to cherish the dialogue between fire, time, and creativity!
