The noisiest object in a kitchen is the extractor hood. Here it is the quietest.
In the Eixample, the hood wears the same veining as the island below it. Instead of a steel box there is a block hanging over the hob, matching the surface it serves.
The pattern keeps going: the worktop, the wall behind the tap, the floor. Once the whole room is the same, the machinery has nowhere left to show.
What does the talking is three stools in olive, the only colour in the room.
The best way to hide a machine is not to cover it. It is to dress it in what is already there.
