He burst in like a ray of sunshine!
He was all smiles, and his eyes shone with the confidence of someone who lives life to the fullest.
Johnny, from the United States, popped into my little shop in Frigiliana as if he just knew something good was waiting for him.
He turned on his heels as soon as he entered and exclaimed:
'Wow! This shop is wonderful.'
He looked around every corner, his face a picture of concern. Every piece.
It was as if he were searching for something... or as if something were calling him.
I offered him a glass of cold water.
As we enjoyed our drinks and chatted, we wandered through the collections, the colours, and the reasons behind them.
But then he stopped in front of a watercolour and everything changed.
This is one of my favourite poems from my first collection, called 'Towards the Light I'. Emerge.
The first one I dared to show.
The first one I brought out of my heart and into the world.
He asked me to dedicate it to him, which was really sweet of him.
And so, with that lovely mixture of sunshine, enthusiasm and true connection...
Jhonny became a collector, and he really enjoyed it.
I've always been someone who will never forget how a work of art finds its owner, and I'm so grateful for that.
