Paradocs is a multi-discipline clinic in Brecht, Belgium, designed by studio Contekst with a clear brief: make it feel domestic. Acoustic ceilings in wood grid, bespoke joinery, tactile materials, and recycled tiles from the Rotor DC project replace the standard clinical vocabulary. The Globo Cesta pendant and long TMM wall light by Miguel Milá complete an interior that, in the studio‘s words, wants to “connect with people and flirt a little with the past”.

An 1890 palace next to the Teatro Real in Madrid. .delahiguera gutted it — partition walls, dropped ceilings, all of it out. What was underneath turned out to be the whole point: slopes, angles, light coming in from above. They leaned into it.

Our Sylvestrina sconces on the plaster walls. A candil, reimagined in 1974. In a building like this, it just makes sense.

Peter Graham Harnden and Lanfranco Bombelli met José Antonio Coderch in 1958, who took them to the remote village of Cadaqués, where figures such as Salvador Dalí, Man Ray, and Marcel Duchamp would gather. In 1961, they designed Casa Bombelli.

They aspired to a convivial, spontaneous way of living, where informal spaces are as important as the more formal rooms. A layered spatial composition gives the house both the character of a small city and that of an intimate private domain.
