Every PET Lamp carries a journey, a human story, and a sense of place woven directly into its form.

Our PET Lamp Abyssinia collection took us to the heart of Ethiopia, where we collaborated with exceptional women artisans in Addis Ababa and surrounding communities. Immersed in their world, we witnessed how generations of basketry knowledge transform native grasses and repurposed plastic into vibrant, coiled works of art. Guided by each weaver’s personal creative instincts, no two lamps tell the exact same story—each spiral and geometric pattern is a living memory of this transformative journey.

Meet Segundo, one of the masterful artisans behind our PET Lamp Chimbarongo collection.

With over 50 years of experience in wicker working, Segundo has spent a lifetime honing his deep connection to this traditional Chilean craft. While life momentarily pulled him away from the trade, collaborating with PET Lamp provided a meaningful opportunity for him to return to his lifelong passion. The making of the PET Lamp Ibisi is a dance of incredible patience and precision.
Watching the artisans in Rwanda weave each piece reveals the deep focus and mastery required to shape these intricate forms. Strip by strip, raw fibers are meticulously intertwined around a plastic bottle, transforming simple materials into a striking design object. The PET Lamp Ibisi is more than a beautiful lamp; it is formed by a slow, rhythmic art form passed down through generations. Every twist of the fiber carries the signature of the hands that made it, ensuring that no two lamps are ever exactly alike.
