Ceramics at SONMO started five years ago with a simple question: how do we make things here, using what comes from our estate, in a way that works for us?

Since then, we have developed our own way of working with ash, minerals, heat and time.
From the first sketch to the final firing, every piece passes through many hands, many decisions and a fair amount of trial and error.

This is what happens behind our ceramics.

Some things are worth bringing back to life.

For almost two years, our restored looms have been weaving again. Together with Daniel Harris, we brought these old machines back to work at our estate, turning Mallorcan wool into blankets and rugs.

The fourth edition of SONMO Dialogues brought together Victoria de Lorenzo (Victoria de Lorenzo), Textile Historian and Lecturer at London College of Fashion (UAL), who shared with us how textiles have shaped economy, technology and society for centuries.

As she explained during the talk, textiles are more than a trend: they’re a living archive of how we’ve produced, consumed and changed as a society, from the domestic system to industrialisation.

At SONMO we work with Mallorcan sheep wool and the knowledge behind it, recovering a process that has been part of Finca Son Moragues’ history for over 500 years.

Introducing the MIGJORN Rug, available in three colours.

Woven in Mallorca on the Gregori Loom, a century-old machine restored after being dormant for five decades, using the wool of our Mallorcan red sheep.

Each design combines traditional weaving techniques such as herringbone and panama with patterns created through different warp arrangements, resulting in a palette of natural tones.

The result is a robust and timeless piece, rooted in the materials and living heritage of our estate.

Handcrafted from natural Mallorcan lambskin, sourced from free-range sheep and tanned locally on the island. Its distinctive cut pattern gives the leather exceptional flexibility and a unique texture, while the interior combines vegetable-tanned leather with a wool felt divider made from the fleece of our Mallorcan sheep.

Each piece is designed, sourced and made on our estate in Mallorca.
