🚀 Automated Testing Paving the Way for Autonomous Manufacturing

At Scanfil Wutha, intelligent automation is boosting productivity, quality, and competitiveness. Our new fully automated test cell, developed together with our internal Industrial Engineering team, uses a collaborative robot (cobot) to automate testing, sorting, and handling of electronic assemblies.

The solution enables reliable, fully traceable testing with minimal manual intervention and creates the foundation for autonomous "black shift" production, maximizing equipment utilization while maintaining consistent quality.

Today we released our January-June 2026 half-year report, which shows strong Q2 as strategic progress reshapes the company.

Key takeaways of Q2 2026 by our CEO Christophe Sut:
📈 The Q2 performance demonstrates our ability to combine growth with improved profitability.
📈 All four regions – Americas, APAC, Central Europe and Northern Europe – continued to show organic growth YoY. The development was especially positive in the Americas, where profitability more than doubled compared with the previous year.
🫱🏻‍🫲🏻 New project wins of approximately EUR 72 million during the quarter.
📈 Turnover increased by 28.1% YoY, with a 4.7% organic growth rate.
📈 Comparable EBITA increased from Q2 2025 by 30.8% to EUR 18.6 million (14.2).

We’re proud to play a key role in supporting TOMRA’s production ramp-up and deployment of S2 Rugged Plus reverse vending machines for Poland’s Deposit Return System.

Through close collaboration, agile manufacturing, and a strong supply chain, we’ve helped to scale production quickly while maintaining consistent quality. Local manufacturing in Poland has also been a critical part of the success. The collaboration will continue in H2 👏

Eva Säberg has worked for Scanfil Åtvidaberg SE for 40 years. Her journey at Scanfil has led her through many departments, including inspection and testing. She however prefers the assembly the best as she ❤️working with her hands and building components and systems such as circuit boards, antennas, filters, payment terminals, and more.

During her time at Scanfil, many things have changed for the better. In the past, your superior was the one telling you what to do and when – today employees have more responsibility and are empowered to plan their working day. The working culture has also changed from hierarchical organization to employees being on the same level no matter what their role is.

For Eva, Scanfil feels like home. A second family with whom you enjoy spending time.

Scanfil Suzhou expansion project breaks ground✨

The groundbreaking ceremony marks an important milestone in Scanfil’s development in China: the total expanded area will be 20,000 square meters, of which more than 15,000 square meters of modern production and automated storage space!

According to Christian Kesten, Group Vice President of APAC and General Manager of Scanfil Suzhou, the expansion is a key component of Scanfil’s APAC and global strategy, enhancing supply chain resilience, supporting scalable growth with key customers, while creating local jobs and contributing to the industrial ecosystem. “Our goal is not just to build a facility, but to create long-term value for the region.”

We’re eagerly waiting for the expansion to finalize in May 2027!

From Spain to Sievi: A fresh take on work and life through internship
This spring, the Scanfil Sievi team had the pleasure of welcoming Marcos and Carlos, two young Erasmus+ interns specializing in electromechanics and electrical automation, from Spain to Sievi.
At their arrival in Finland, the first surprise wasn’t just the weather — but the landscape.

“We saw forests everywhere. It felt like the whole country was covered by trees.”

They also discovered something less visible but just as impactful: a different pace of life and communication for two talkative Spaniards.

“In Finland we learned that silence is not a bad thing. If you don’t have something to say, you can just enjoy the moment.”

Inside the factory: learning the Scanfil way of working
During their internship, the students gained hands-on experience across production, assembly, and repair tasks — from building machine components to working with electronics and automation systems.

Supporting them on the shop floor was a fellow Spaniard David Martinena, who has been part of the Sievi team since 2022. He played a key role in guiding the interns through their daily work and helping them adapt quickly to the Scanfil culture and ways of working.

One of the most valuable lessons for them was the strong focus on quality and ownership.

Making connections
Although North Ostrobothnian culture felt reserved at first, the Sievi community quickly made them feel welcome. Over time, connections formed — both at work and outside of work. From gym sessions to meeting local students, karaoke nights and even experiencing a traditional Finnish summer cottage with sauna by the lake.

For Marcos and Carlos, the internship was about much more than merely technical skills. Both improved their English, gained confidence, and most importantly, broadened their horizons.
For us at Scanfil, hosting international interns is not just about offering opportunities — it’s about learning together.

New perspectives challenge us, inspire us, and remind us why continuous improvement matters.
