Create a selection of everlasting ceramic/pottery snowflake Christmas decorations. These make lovely little stocking fillers or Secret Santa gifts.
During the class you will be able to create between 8 and 10 snowflakes of your own using white and blue earthenware clays. They can be decorated with underglaze patterns, piercing or a combination of both. Basically what you can see here is what you'll be able to make!

Once dried, your pieces will be fired and will be ready for you to collect a few days later.

40€ per person. Cost includes white and blue earthenware clay, all materials, tools and firing.

This is how I stilt up my poppies and other flowers for glaze firing. The round black disks (known as cookies) are simple circles cut from clay with a high temperature resistant wire spike that the flower sits on to prevent it sticking to the kiln shelves.

Sgraffito is a traditional ceramic decorating technique that involves adding a layer of contrasting colour to leather hard clay. The design is carefully carved in to each piece to reveal the white clay beneath.
