🤖 CHATTY PETE (ChatGPT) IS GETTING A LITTLE TOO INVOLVED…

He started with helping with emails and paperwork.

Then came technical research, reports, regulations, planning jobs, websites, social media, training documents…

Now apparently Chatty Pete has turned up on site in a hi-vis and hard hat. 😂

☕ Mug in hand, obviously.

For a small business like Cham Dépan, AI is becoming an incredibly useful tool.

When you’re a small company, you don’t have separate departments for administration, marketing, technical research, communications, training and development. Most of the time, you are all of those departments.

AI doesn’t replace the experience, qualifications, practical skills or judgement needed to actually do the job — and Pete certainly isn’t getting his hands dirty anytime soon.

But it can help enormously with everything that surrounds the job: organising information, researching technical questions, preparing reports, communicating with clients, developing ideas and generally saving time.

That means more time for us to concentrate on the bit that really matters: doing the work properly.

Although Pete is becoming increasingly demanding…

Apparently before we fix anything else, he wants to know:

“Mmmmm… have we checked the 53 mm?” 🤓😂

🔥 Intervention du jour – Restaurant Le Monchu, Chamonix

Aujourd’hui, réalisation du ramonage complet du grand foyer à braises.

✅ Accès en toiture sécurisé
✅ Contrôle et nettoyage de l’extracteur de fumées
✅ Ramonage mécanique rotatif du conduit de fumée
✅ Ramonage des conduits de raccordement
✅ Ramonage de l’avaloir
✅ Nettoyage complet du foyer

Ce type d’installation demande bien plus qu’un simple ramonage. Chaque intervention comprend un contrôle de l’ensemble du système d’évacuation des fumées afin de garantir son bon fonctionnement et la sécurité de l’établissement.

The office said…

So… I let AI have a go. 😳

Apparently I’m now permanently cheerful, never get tired, and can clean chimneys in a cartoon world all day long! 🧹🔥

The good news?

The real chimney sweep will still be the one turning up at your house.

He might arrive covered in soot…
He’ll probably be talking about stoves…
And he definitely won’t smile quite as much as the AI version… 😂

But your chimney will be clean, safe and ready for winter every single time.

A fantastic first morning at the La Nordica Extraflame Academy.

It was great to see the complete current range in one place—from traditional wood cookers and contemporary wood stoves to the latest pellet appliances, hybrid models and the impressive new Lumen electric fireplace range.

Continuing professional training is essential. Every update helps us provide better installations, more accurate diagnostics and higher quality servicing for our customers.

Looking forward to the technical training over the next two days and bringing these latest developments back to Cham Dépan.
