Rio Soléy Design A place to find wall art prints with words created by an independent artist

One of my favourite parts of the process is this moment - when flat pieces of printed shrink plastic slowly curl, twist, and turn tiny in the heat 🤍 I’ve watched it hundreds of times and it still feels a little magical every time ✨ It is also the longest process (in real time, it’s much slower than in the video 😆), but it’s starting to be second nature by now after shrinking hundreds.

This tiny magnet trio is called Market Day: a basket with white flowers, strawberries, and yellow spring shoes. All drawn by me by hand on my iPad, then printed and shrunk, and finished by hand to become these tiny decorative magnets.

Little handmade pieces inspired by slow market strolls, fresh flowers, and the simple joys of spring 🌿

A little (or very) late, but I didn’t want to skip sharing this ✨

Maison & Objet in January was full of shapes, colours, and ideas I’m probably going to carry with me for a while 💌 It’s always interesting to see what’s happening beyond my own little world.

Also had a small surreal moment seeing my artwork there through a licensing partner. Still something I don’t think I’ll ever get used to 🥰

So many things that made me pause and think!

Lately, my days have mostly looked like this: making tiny magnets, packaging cards, and trying to ship everything on time.

Then I see photos from shops, or visit one in person, and I remember: they end up in beautiful independent boutiques, waiting quietly on a shelf until someone decides to take them home 🤍

It’s so easy to be taken by the tasks in front of you and forget what it is leading to.

Working with shops and lovely shop owners like them has become one of the parts of my work that feels the most aligned. Seeing my illustrations live in carefully curated spaces, alongside other thoughtful objects, means a lot to me.

Here are three of the lovely boutiques currently carrying my work 🤍

📍 Tutu et Tata
Körnerstraße 15, 50823 Köln, Germany

📍 La Boîte à Bonheur
18 Rue Saint-Martin, 14400 Bayeux

📍 Soliz
9 Rue d’Aujou, 46100 Figeac

Quiet rituals, small comforts…and tiny handmade things to match 🍵🤍

This is The Matcha Club mini magnet trio: iced matcha latte, hot matcha latte, and traditional whisked matcha, drawn in Paris, shrunk by hand, and finished one by one in my tiny flat.

Little green moments for your fridge, your workspace, or anyone who loves slow matcha days as much as you do ♥️

It all starts from imagining you offering a hand-written card to your special someone 💌 Quietly, on my iPad, often on the bed (cos I don’t have a real couch in my tiny flat 😂) Maybe you want to tell them how much of a QUEEN they are ✨ Or simply want to convey the love 🤍

Then they slowly take shape. Printed, packaged, lined up…and one day, they leave my desk and begin a new life inside independent boutiques and concept stores ♥️

Seeing them displayed in shops never gets old. It’s like watching a small idea grow into something that connects people in the real world ✨

Greeting cards are currently only available for wholesale only at my partner shops, but I’m trying to find a way to offer it on my little online shop soon as well!

Yes, even wholesale orders are handmade 💌
This is what preparing a wholesale order of 100 magnets looks like in my tiny Paris flat - illustrations by hand on my iPad, each piece printed, cut, shrunk, coated, and packed by hand. I use the same process whether I’m making one magnet or one hundred.

I create illustrated goods inspired by slow living, food culture, and everyday rituals 🤍 Art prints, greeting card, and handmade mini magnet sets designed for concept stores that value thoughtful, handmade pieces. Grateful for the shops who choose small creators and take the time to support work made this way 💌

Life happens. Wine helps 🍷
Some days call for big conversations. Others just need a good glass, a bit of cheese, and a moment to breathe. This little Apéro Time magnets are inspired by those evenings. The ones that don’t fix everything, but just a moment to share with lovely humans and make things feel a bit lighter.

For those curious: you’re watching the shrink process of my handmade mini magnet set ✨ I draw everything myself, then print, cut, shrink, coat, and package each piece by hand in a corner of my tiny Paris flat.
Wine bottle & glass, cheese, baguette - tiny reminders of slowing down and just sharing the moment with cool people. Small objects, made with care, for kitchens that feel lived-in 🤍 Available in my little online shop!

Before turning the page, I wanted to say this: thank you.

For your support in 2025, in all the forms it took - orders, messages, conversations, encouragement, quiet follows.

Building a small creative business hasn’t been a straight line. Behind the illustrated prints, handmade goods, and shop updates, there’s a lot of learning, adjusting, and showing up. Sometimes confidently, sometimes not 😊

This year wasn’t simple or linear, but it was deeply human. And I’m grateful to have shared it with you 🤍

If you’re a small business owner, illustrator, or creative entrepreneur navigating your own in-between season, I hope this reminds you that you’re not alone ♥️

Consider this my Christmas card to you. 💌🎄

Whether a Rio Soléy print is hanging in your hallway, displayed in your beautiful boutique, or being gifted to a loved one this week…thank you ♥️ You are the reason my illustrations have travelled from a tiny studio flat into so many beautiful homes and boutiques across France. 🏠🤍

When I design these pieces, I think of the “tiny rituals” these art prints will witness in your lives: the morning coffees, the festive dinners, and the quiet moments of comfort. Seeing how you’ve made these creations your own is what makes this journey so special. 🎨🌿

As I look back at the wonderful shops that welcomed us this year (swipe to the end for the full list! 🥹), I’m reminded that none of this would be possible without your belief in independent art.

I’m raising a glass to you this Christmas. Thank you for making my 2025 a year of pure magic. 🥂✨

From my tiny Paris studio to the digital shelves of a French icon. 🇫🇷✨

It is a surreal honour to announce that Rio Soléy has officially launched on the e-shop of 🥂🎉 Seeing my Paris-themed illustrations listed alongside this legendary name is a dream come true for my small brand.

To those of you who have supported Rio Soléy from the very beginning: this milestone belongs to you. You are the true tastemakers ♥️ Long before the big retailers gave their stamp of approval, you chose these illustrations to bring comfort and colour into your homes. Thank you for trusting your eye for style and for believing that independent art belongs in every living space.

I am so grateful to the teams at these iconic retailers for opening their digital doors to independent creators. It’s an incredible opportunity to help even more people make their homes feel like their own. 🏠🌿

I hope this serves as a reminder for your own journey today: Your current “small” space is exactly where your biggest dreams are meant to grow. Don’t wait for the perfect studio to start (which I still DREAM of but…) just keep going 🤍
