Meet Dariusz Mizera — an exceptional double bassist, educator, and artistic soul whose career bridges continents and generations.
Born in Poland, Dariusz studied at the University of Music Frédéric Chopin in Warsaw, where his talent quickly drew international attention. He went on to perform as Principal Double Bass with leading orchestras across Europe — from the Warsaw Chamber Opera and Malmö Symphony Orchestra, to the Danish Concert Orchestra and the Opera of Zurich.
His artistry has illuminated the world’s great stages — from the Salzburg Festival to Menuhin Gstaad, Aix-en-Provence, and Lucerne — collaborating with ensembles such as the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, and Zürcher Kammerorchester.
A laureate of numerous international competitions, including the Bottesini Competition and the Yamaha Foundation Prize, Dariusz is also a double ECHO Klassik Award winner and a recipient of the Platinum Medal of Arts, Sciences & Lettres in Paris. 🏅
It was my pleasure to help him prepare, read, and refine his portfolio for the French Academy — and to travel to Paris to see him receive this remarkable honor. 🇫🇷
Beyond his brilliance as a performer, he is a mentor, coach, and guide — a man of great values, always there to listen and advise with kindness and wisdom. His philosophy is simple yet profound: « Music is not a function — it is a language of emotion. »
An artist, a teacher, and above all, a man of heart and vision.
