PANACHE | Reproduction of a hand-loomed silk brocade drawn from the exceptional Tassinari & Chatel archives. It is a sumptuous silk lampas on an ottoman ground with undulating white feathers on a river of fur and a few delicate flowers, giving a feminine touch to the elegance refinement and luxury of the Louis XV period. Feathers were used in decoration and bouquets, and in the hair of elegant women, becoming a source of inspiration for the decorators of the period. The fur motif is a tribute to Marie Leczsinska, a Princess who came in from the cold to become Louis XV's wife.

This Regency-inspired fabric dresses an elegant Chevalier bed by , with its hand-carved wooden frame evoking Louis XVI design. The classical precision of its lines and the delicacy of its sculpted details find a perfect echo in the ornamental richness and satin softness of this Tassinari & Chatel textile, elevating the ensemble with timeless elegance.

Under the impulse of Jackie Kennedy’s ambitious White House restoration project in the early 1960s, French decorator Stéphane Boudin of Maison Jansen was entrusted with the redecoration of the Blue Room. For this prestigious commission, he selected a historic lampas originally created in 1819 by Grand Frères, predecessors of , part of Maison Lelièvre.

Inspired by the French Empire style, the design was later reinterpreted with the addition of the American bald eagle, creating a refined dialogue between French decorative heritage and American symbolism.

Today, this exceptional archive stands as a testament to the enduring cultural ties between France and the United States. Exceptionally displayed at as part of the “Hidden Treasures, 250 Years of Franco-American Luxury Stories” exhibition, presented by the , alongside the original textile, the historic archive book recording the commission further highlights the remarkable heritage and craftsmanship behind this prestigious creation.

Spotted at the “Hidden Treasures, 250 Years of Franco-American Luxury Stories” exhibition in New York, presented by the at , this exceptional archive from the historic collections of , part of Maison Lelièvre, retraces a remarkable dialogue between French decorative arts and American history.

Originally created in the 19th century, this historic lampas later became part of the redecoration of the White House Blue Room during the Kennedy presidency, under the impulse of Jackie Kennedy’s restoration project and with the contribution of French decorator Stéphane Boudin of Maison Jansen.

Displayed today as part of the “Hidden Treasures, 250 Years of Franco-American Luxury Stories” exhibition, the textile reflects centuries of craftsmanship, artistic transmission and enduring cultural ties between France and the United States.

LÉORNARDO | In the style of 16th-century Italian textiles, this brocatelle is produced from a document in our archive collection. Its oriental-inspired design of stylized flowers, set within floral and leafy scrolls, is subtly crafted using linen and schappe silk yarns, resulting in a finish very close to carved velvet.

JARDIN D’HIVER | This magnificent lampas was first produced in 1866 and is based on a Japanese drawing by Grand Frères. The design shows the tree of life, luxuriant with flowers, fruits and multicolored birds, flourishing on two branches with an 87 cm high repeat necessary for cutting. The freshness and delicacy of the design is typical of Japanese prints and ceramics brought to Europe in the mid to late 19th century.
