It is a sumptuous silk lampas on an ottoman ground with undulating white feathers on a river of fur and a few delicate flowers, giving a feminine touch to the elegance refinement and luxury of the Louis XV period. Feathers were used in decoration and bouquets, and in the hair of elegant women, becoming a source of inspiration for the decorators of the period. The fur motif is a tribute to Marie Leczsinska, a Princess who came in from the cold to become Louis XV's wife.
