We’re ISO (re)certified!
Following an audit last month, we have been recertified in ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and newly
certified in ISO 45001!
ISO 9001 is the standard for quality management, and we’ve been certified since 2010. This
means that our quality management systems have been efficient, maintained, and continually
improving for 15 years.
ISO 14001 is the standard for environmental management systems, and we’ve been certified
since 2011. Our goal is to reduce our impact on the environment, follow legal requirements, and
champion sustainable development.
ISO 45001 is the standard for occupational health and safety management systems, and it’s a
new certification for RBA. It shows that we’re committed to our team’s health, safety, and
wellbeing, ensuring that our directors and team are involved in hazard identification and risk
assessment, regulatory compliance, preparation for emergency situations, and accident
analysis.
We’re proud of our dedication to quality, the environment, and health and safety—it enables us
to provide the best possible service to our clients and a safe and organised work environment
for our team.

Spotted in ! 🔎

You may have noticed something familiar in last week’s issue of Le Moniteur! RBA got a mention in ‘La France entend surfer sur la revolution IA’ (‘France intends to capitalise on the AI revolution’) as part of the cover feature on data centres. We received the nod for our international presence in France, the UK, Italy, and Spain and for our recent collaboration with on a data centre project in Pantin.

The French data centre industry has tremendous potential to grow as AI becomes increasingly prevalent—all that data needs to go somewhere! As mentioned in Le Moniteur, France has a solid source of decarbonised energy, high level on fibreoptic interconnectivity, low earthquake risk, and extensive transport and infrastructure. It’s an exciting time to be part of the data centre industry in France and abroad.

Happy International Data Center Day!

We designed our first data centre in 2007—that’s over 15 years ago! Since then, we’ve become experts, with millions of square metres and thousands of MW under our belt.

Today we’re celebrating our team, our clients, and the colleagues we’ve worked with over the past 15+ years. The data centre industry has come a long way and so have we. We’re eager to keep innovating and excited to be part of the future of data centre design. Here’s to the next 15 years!

Celebrating World Down Syndrome Day: Embracing Diversity and Inclusion at Reid Brewin Architects

As we mark World Down Syndrome Day today, Reid Brewin Architects stands in solidarity with individuals with Down syndrome and their families worldwide. This day is an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equality within our community and beyond.

World Down Syndrome Day, observed annually on the 21st of March, symbolises the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome, which leads to Down syndrome. It's a day to celebrate the contributions, talents, and achievements of people with Down syndrome to our society.

At Reid Brewin Architects, we believe in creating environments that are accessible, welcoming, and inclusive for everyone. Our approach to design and architecture is deeply rooted in the principle that every individual, regardless of their abilities, should have the opportunity to live, work, and thrive in spaces that respect their needs and dignity.

In honour of World Down Syndrome Day, we're taking steps to further educate our team about Down syndrome and the importance of inclusivity. We support individuals with Down syndrome, aiming to promote awareness, acceptance, and advocacy through Architecture.

Let's all embrace this day as a reminder of the beautiful diversity that enriches our world. Together, we can create more inclusive communities that celebrate the strengths and abilities of every individual.

To everyone with Down syndrome, their families, and their supporters: we see you, we appreciate you, and we stand with you. Happy World Down Syndrome Day!

Reid Brewin Architects is thrilled to be part of Data Centre World in London again.

Last year, exhibiting at Data Centre World was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our expertise and connect with like-minded professionals. It set the stage for meaningful interactions and allowed us to dive deep into the evolving trends of data centre design and architecture. The event was a catalyst for creating lasting relationships within the industry, enriching our practice and perspective.

This time, we're eager to revisit those connections and foster new ones, even though we won't be exhibiting. Data Centre World remains a crucial event for anyone involved in the data centre sector, offering a wealth of knowledge and the latest in technology and regulatory changes. It's an essential platform for us to stay at the forefront of the industry, discussing challenges and exploring innovative solutions.

Our agenda is packed with seminars, roundtables, and informal chats to deepen our understanding and share our experiences in creating efficient, sustainable data centres. We're excited to absorb new ideas and insights to inspire our future projects and strategies.

While we won't have a stand this year, our commitment to the data centre community is as strong as ever. We're passionate about developing architectures that are not only technologically advanced but also environmentally responsible. Data Centre World is the perfect environment to advance these goals through learning and collaboration.

We encourage anyone interested in the future of data centres to connect with us during the event. Whether we've met before or you're new to the field, we're keen to exchange ideas and explore potential collaborations.

We look forward to an inspiring event filled with opportunities for growth and connection. See you in London!

The architectural world celebrates a monumental achievement as Polish-French architect Iwona Buczkowska and activist Angela Davis are awarded the Jane Drew Prize for 2024. This accolade honours their exceptional contributions to raising women's profile in architecture, showcasing their dedication to diversity and inclusion.

Iwona Buczkowska is celebrated for her innovative and sustainable urban housing designs, such as the Bac d'Asnières in Paris, which exemplifies her commitment to eco-friendly and socially responsible architecture. Her work challenges traditional norms, advocating for a sustainable approach to urban living.

Angela Davis, known for her activism, has also impacted architectural discourse by emphasising the socio-political aspects of space and design. Her insights advocate for spaces that promote inclusivity, equality, and justice, challenging architects to consider the broader societal impact of their work.

The Jane Drew Prize, named after a pioneering architect committed to promoting women in the field celebrates those who, like Buczkowska and Davis, push the boundaries of architecture to be more inclusive and reflective of society's diverse needs.
