We’re still closed this week while Tony recovers from last week’s operation. Our Murder, Mystery & Merino Club will not be running tonight but our Saturday Jumper Club will be running again from this Saturday!

We’ve got some exciting changes happening at Valleys Yarn House, and we wanted to let our lovely customers know what’s happening.

🧶 Our knitting groups and workshops are moving!

We’ll be bringing these to our new community hub, just around the corner in Abertillery Arcade. We’re really excited about this new space and what it will allow us to create together more opportunities to meet, learn, craft and build our community.

🏡 Our retail shop will be temporarily closing. In part to due Tony’s upcoming operation and as we take the next step in our journey and restructure Valleys Yarn House as a Community Interest Company (CIC), our physical retail shop will temporarily close while we make these changes. More on this below.

But don’t worry we’re not going anywhere! ❤️

You can still shop with us online throughout this transition. Orders can either be posted directly to you or collected from our new arcade community hub. A new shop will open in the near future.

We’re incredibly grateful for all the support you’ve given us so far. This is a big change, but it’s also an exciting new phase, one that will allow us to put our community at the heart of what we do. When we opened the Yarnhouse we never realised that the community work we do would be not just popular locally but internationally. The transition to a community interest company allows us to build on this, making Abertillery a destination for wool, yarn, crochet and knitting fans across the world!

Our community space is coming together at last, we’ve got some exciting things planned for the new space, and will have much more room to expand our popular Saturday Jumper club!

🧶 Temporary Opening Times 🧶

We’ve got a small change to our opening hours for the next few weeks.

Tony is having a little bit of minor surgery, so he’s been told to slow down and take things a bit easier while he recovers — and no knitting! 😉

So, until the end of September, we’ll be running slightly reduced opening hours while he recovers.

A couple of changes to note first:

📅 Friday 28th August: Closed
📅 Saturday 29th August: 10am–2pm

Then continuing with our temporary hours:

🧶 Monday: Closed
🧶 Tuesday: 10:30am–4pm & 7pm–9pm
🧶 Wednesday: Closed
🧶 Thursday: Closed
🧶 Friday: 10:30am–4pm
🧶 Saturday: 10am–4pm
🧶 Sunday: Closed

The good news is that Saturday Jumper Club and Murder, Mystery & Merino Club are completely unaffected and will continue as usual! 🕵️‍♀️🧶☕️

And of course, our online shop is open every day, so you can still indulge your yarn needs whenever the mood takes you.
