For this one we went slightly further afield to Exeter involving a 2 week stay last summer. The kitchen was supplied by the client and it was from diykitchens.co.uk. The client wanted a custom built chimney breast and they also wanted fitted furniture upstairs.

Where have the last 2 years gone?!.. now a husband and a father. Personal and work life has been a whirlwind but I intend to share some of my favourite pieces of work from over the last 2 years on here in the next few months to keep you all in the loop..
But first, here is one of the main projects we have been working on for West Midlands Contracting Ltd. as the main contractor. It's going to be a stunning property once its finished. There's even going to be a tunnel leading to where the swimming pool will be.

It's nice working for a client who knows exactly what they want and can draw a to scale plan of their vision. It was a nice treat for us to be working with solid oak on this project. The addition of the LED light strip and the antique mirrors really set this piece off, throw in the natural beauty of oak and you have a winning recipe.

It's been a while since we last posted, although we've been absent, we haven't stopped working. We've just being doing more run of the mill projects.
We're back with a lovely set of oak stairs made by Avonbank Joinery. I really do love these stairs, they're so well suited to this cottage on the bank of the River Avon. It was one of the more tricky stairs we've had to fit. As you can see, a few of the newel posts and caps needed to be scribed aswell as a section of the handrail and a spindle. It was worth all the extra work, I feel it really adds to the character of the stairs in this cottage.

This type of hipped roof was a first for us! It's not your conventional hipped roof, with the hips constructed beneath the main roof structure. We feel the design has a lot of character from below which is important as the structure will remain on display. We took great care with the details, including the bolting patterns to keep everything aesthetically pleasing to the eye, that's without mentioning the feature of the barrel dormer which provides the finishing touches to this roof.

We weren't sure how this project was going to turn out due to how extensive the rot was on this sun room. However we feel it's been transformed with the repairs... We gave it its structural integrity back by replacing the corner posts and replacing all the glass with safety glass.
