So chuffed that my silly face was in the Times yesterday in Editors Picks (pictures of the day). In the image I’m holding a bucket full of Yarrow or Achillea… A great plant to grow in these times of drought.

Are you like me? Always busy doing the thing and looking for problems to solve? We do it because it’s our job don’t we? That’s no different for me as a gardener and florist… I’m always scanning for the weeds or the next tidy job. Very rarely do I take a moment, zoom out and look at what’s been achieved.

I took these pictures on Wednesday evening whilst picking the flowers for an order. ‘I think I actually did a thing and made something beautiful’. This is my dream. Sometimes it becomes more of a nightmare if I’m very honest with you.

The flower side of what I do is very much a passion project and the reality is that my gardening work for clients sustains it. Somehow I make it work and whilst taking these pictures I realised that I need to give myself some credit and take a breath.

This post is dedicated to all those hard working growers out there who are somehow making it work…

We are all doing that in one way or another aren’t we? So give yourselves some credit and look at what’s been achieved. Well done you!

Back from holiday and the picking paddock is in full bloom! So I’m going to offer some last minute pick your own sessions for this weekend…

Saturday morning 8 - 8.45 and 9 - 9.45
Sunday morning 8 - 8.45 and 9 - 9.45

We’ll meet outside and I’ll take each group to the flower garden. Do a little tour and talk and show you what to pick.

It’s going to be ticketed with limited numbers at £10 per person, which will include a minimum of 15 stems of my lovely sustainably grown flowers 🙂

You could add more flowers at the time if you wanted to get more… I’ll let you know stem prices on the day.

For now, I just wanted to do a quick post to say watch this space!

Bring a bucket, bring your friends… Grab a drink from the Roastery and swoon in the flowers!

I finally got to decorate the beautiful wedding arbour at Froyle Park for Karen and James’ wedding on 4th July… What do you think?

We wanted it to look really natural. It was made without any floral foam with sustainably grown foliage from the farm.
