A large, irregular shaped wall can sometimes be a bit tricky to fill with wall art, but with our modular porcelain ceramic sculptures, we can create compositions made up of multiple pieces and arrange them in a way that is tailored to your space.

Double height spaces can be especially challenging, because they are special by nature - they are generous spaces that you often want to emphasise, and yet they just aren’t right for regular rectangular canvases or framed artworks.
Our design service can help with creating the perfect layout for this type of space. Get in touch if that sounds good to you!

This piece was a custom commission for a client, creating seemingly simple shapes, although they were quite tricky to get right in the end. They were to be circles, but with a slightly organic feel to them, rather than a perfectly machined circle feel.

During the initial discussions, the client expressed that they wanted something fairly flat, circular, but not too bowl like. We explored options and we eventually went in the direction of the bronze/gold stud in the centre. This came about after deciding that one of the circular ceramic sculptures were to be finished in a dark bronze glaze, which looks crisp with the bronze centre.

Funnily enough, this dark bronzy gold finish was found because of a happy accident! I was on the hunt for a new shiny gold glaze and tested this particular finish. But when it came out of the kiln a lot darker than expected, I placed the fired works in my work in progress box and began the search for something else. I really loved it but it wasn’t quite right for that piece. A couple of weeks later, I received a request asking for a dark bronzy gold, so perhaps it was meant to be! The unexpected colour of this finish turned out to be the perfect shade of bronze gold that our client was looking for.

I’m really happy with how these pieces turned out and we can’t wait to see them in situ on the walls of their new home!

Stitched Ceramics 1-2
My threaded sculptures are made up of fibrous threads that create a unique, geometric pattern on the sculpture. Their patterns are complex, structured and rhythmical. Once theyre meticulously added, they create an eyecatching design and texture.

Flourish 3-4
A close-up of our larger sized abstract sculptural circular shaped wall decor pieces in a warm off white natural porcelain finish and mounted on a warm taupe wall. The design features layered, textured patterns, similar to lichen and a small golden stud in the centre.

Flora 5-6
A close up of our Flora sculptural bowl like fine art pieces in a mixture of warm off-white natural porcelain and light green / grey tones inspired by Farrow & Ball’s Cromarty and Hardwick White. They have been etched with a pattern comprising lots of smooth grooves and organic markings.

Ceramic Butterflies 7-8
Our lace butterflies are each imprinted with a unique, delicate lace texture to add pattern and shape to their dainty little wings. Butterfly wings are made up of beautiful, intricate patterns which we have tried to replicate through the use of delicate textiles and fine lace materials. These fabrics are imprinted into the soft clay where butterfly shapes are then cut from and carved by hand. Because of the placement of the pattern and the way in which we sculpt the butterfly, it makes each ceramic sculpture unique.

Beautifully Bronzed 🤎

Inspired by our Serenity petals but with a metallic bronze twist; this set of 47 delicate petals were recently finished and shipped to their new home in the US, where they’ll be installed onto dark wooden paneling. During the initial discussions with our client, they expressed how they loved the delicate feel of our 6cm porcelain petals but that they would prefer the metallic ones to have a darker, bronzy look.

We have used this metallic bronze finish many times for commissions in the past, so we knew that applying it to our petals would work nicely. The bronze finish paired with natural porcelain adds sophistication and a grounded elegance to the handcrafted ceramic wall sculpture. This colour palette is perfect for those who are drawn to light neutrals, gentle greige and creamy beiges as it compliments the colour palette whilst creating contrast and adding style. It works well with both cooler and warmer neutral undertones.

We loved this set that much that we are thinking of creating another one for the website... If you have the perfect spot for this artwork, get in touch to discuss and we could create a set tailored specially for you!

Extra large, layered, textural, neutral circular forms handcrafted out of porcelain clay.

Extra large wall spaces need a statement piece, and that’s exactly what we aimed to achieve when working on this artwork. These circular ceramic forms were designed with large walls in mind and could work well in entryways and linking spaces, as well as positioned over larger pieces of furniture.

The subtle bronze stud adds that little extra sharpness - a tailored touch at the centre of each form.

Although they are large and delicate looking, they are sturdy and can be screwed directly onto the wall making them a secure choice. The largest piece measures approx 32cm (11 inches) in diameter and the smallest 8cm (3 inches), so arranged as we have here, they will take up a space around 75cm x 220cm (7ft x 30 inches). Of course, they could be stretched much wider, turned on their side to be tall and narrow, or condensed to a denser more square, spiral or circular arrangement.

Alternatively, get in touch and ask about our design service - I can adjust and tailor the sculpture to fit your space perfectly, so that the space itself becomes part of the artwork, and the art becomes part of the space.

Snippets from the studio...

1. Experimenting with new threaded pieces, once fired this ceramic geometric sculpture will be threaded up with black thread and possibly a single piece of gold brass wire. They’re complex to make but they’re always worth it!
2. I’ve been creating lots of intricate porcelain ceramic flowers for a sculpture collection that I’m very excited to introduce. All will be revealed in the next couple of weeks!
3. Finishing some porcelain discs in a mix of new finishes inspired by Sherwin William’s Blackberry, Languid Blue and Sahara Beige. We absolutely love this Blackberry finish!
4. Custom colour teal ceramic bird sculptures - finished and sent out to their new home.
5. Testing new gold finishes including gold glaze. This turned out very bronze, rather than gold, which is actually a good thing in some ways as I was looking for a bronze glaze as well.... happy accident! That’s glazing for you.
