We recently had the pleasure of creating a custom set of Garland flowers for a family home in Dubai. During our initial discussions, we learnt that the artwork would be displayed across four wall panels in the living room. The surrounding interior decor featured a soft, delicate colour palette, so we selected colours that would complement the space while also creating an elegant statement on the wall.

The colours we used included a neutral tone inspired by Farrow & Ball’s Strong White, a soft and warm light pink and our standard metallic gold.

This set of bespoke abstract Flora was a joy to work on!
The sculpture features multiple custom finishes inspired by RAL colours: Pastel Violet 4009, Azure Blue 5009, Fern Green 6025, Pastel Blue 5024, Pale Green 6021. The organic arrangement flows over the sideboard and mirror, adding interest to the walls whilst complimenting the other colours in the room.

Being able to create a wide range of colours enables me to create work that closely aligns with the interior designer’s scheme and brief. In this case, Katie Kildal specified the RAL colours for us to colour match to, and we really enjoyed seeing such vibrant colours on the art!

We were recently delighted to work on a bespoke commission for one of our returning clients based in Saudi Arabia. She previously ordered a set of our Serenity Petals, finished in a beautiful combination of soft pink, green and white - designed, created, and printed to her specification before being shipped and installed in her hallway.
Shortly after the first installation, we received the wonderful news that she would like to commission not one, but two additional ceramic wall sculptures for her home. The first, our layered Flora sculptures, were destined for a bedroom. The second, a set of Garland flowers in varying sizes were to join the Serenity Petals already gracing her hallway walls.
With such a generous length of hallway to work with, we designed a new composition that brings both pieces together — weaving the Garland flowers and Serenity Petals into a single, considered installation. The result is one expansive artwork that feels cohesive, organic and intentional, with the flowers and petals flowing between one another across the walls.
This project has been such a joy to watch evolve, and we couldn’t be more pleased with how it has all come together. We hope our client absolutely loves the finished look in her home!
We look forward to sharing more about this commission very soon, and hopefully, some beautiful installation photographs to show you the full effect. In the meantime, here’s a glimpse of the natural porcelain flowers that have just made their way to their new home.

We are keeping the blue and green theme going this week with a recent commission for some 3D ceramic wall art butterflies! Each porcelain butterfly sculpture has been carved by hand here in the studio before being finished with a range of custom colours inspired by Sherwin Williams Dill and Indigo Batik. These are part of a group that will be positioned in a stairwell in a client’s home, and we can’t wait to see the finished installation!

The addition of the gold stud in the centre of each butterfly really pulls the sculpture set together in a way that would be suitable for corporate spaces too. These pieces are screwed directly to the wall, making them secure enough for commercial spaces as well as domestic environments. For this porcelain ceramic sculpture set, I experimented with varying flower sizes—ranging from approximately 8cm to 12cm. The difference in scale gives the arrangement a more natural, organic quality when the pieces are grouped together.

Each sculpture is deeply rooted in craftswomanship. Every piece is carefully shaped by hand in my pottery studio, beginning as an idea, moving into a sketch, and finally taking three-dimensional form in clay. Designed with everlasting beauty in mind, these are heirloom pieces that can be arranged, rearranged, and displayed in your home for years to come.

We’re taking a moment to admire these green and blue finishes that were used to customise a set of sculptures from my abstract Flora collection. These fresh hues are inspired by RAL colours 6021 Pale Green, 6025 Fern Grass, 5009 Azure Blue and 5024 Pastel Blue.

There’s always something quite soothing about ceramics when blues and greens are involved and I think that’s because they’re analogous colours; which when used together, form a harmonious colour combo that evokes a tranquil, natural feeling. They make me think of freshly cut grass, waves crashing against a shoreline and the subtle salty smell of the ocean, walking through a meadow with grasses stretching upwards toward blue skies, crystal blue waters and so on. So I can see why people gravitate to such hues - it’s nature’s palette. When paired with the softness and warmth of natural porcelain, it creates a well balanced colour arrangement which keeps the overall set feeling light and vibrant, even though there are a few cooler shades used.

We believe that surrounding yourself with beauty and carefully chosen colours can have a soothing yet subtly energising effect, making these the perfect addition for both homes and commercial interiors.

Our largest flock to date 🕊️ Swipe to see the plan >

We recently had the pleasure of creating an enormous set of hand crafted porcelain ceramic wall art birds for a commercial space in the USA. The sculpture is titled “Murmuration,” and is going to be installed on the walls of a staircase in a Law Firm’s office in California. There are a total of 220 birds that make up the set and each piece has been finished in a custom colour.

Originally, the interior designers were thinking of finishing the birds in a muted cobalt blue colour, but as they progressed with their scheme, they decided to finish the walls this colour and the birds in a soft white instead. Once we knew the colour direction for the birds, we created some clay samples in a range of white neutrals and sent them over to the team so they could see them in person. Each ceramic disc had a colour code on the back so they could easily communicate to us which hue they’d like to proceed with.

I designed the piece by creating a scaled composition that showed the murmuration in situ. The birds start on one wall and fly their way across two other walls that surround the staircase, creating a flowing arrangement that leads people up the stairs. We later had the plans printed life size in strips to be hung a bit like wallpaper to help with installation.

There’s a process when making sculptures out of clay. Pieces are carved by hand from slabs of porcelain clay and then left to rest before being worked on again. They need time to dry between each stage as if they’re not fully dry before moving onto the next stage we run the risk of the pieces cracking. The team in the studio take great care with each porcelain sculpture and as they are made by hand, no two are alike. Along with creating the birds, we also created special ceramic fixings to elevate the birds from the wall slightly, whilst allowing some freedom in terms of changing the direction.

It’s been a busy few weeks here in the studio, with lots of designing, making and testing new colours etc so here’s a little look behind the scenes:

1. We spent some time carving and creating this set titled “Floreo,” which is made up of natural porcelain petals and Garland flowers measuring between 6-9.5cm.
2. We finished off this set of bespoke Flora in a variety of colours, but we particularly liked how this lilac paired with the natural porcelain.
3. Testing our champagne gold finishes for a client who requested some ceramic butterflies to have a subtle coverage. The finish on both discs is the same but they have been applied in different ways. We think the subtle dusting of champagne pairs beautifully with some that are full solid champagne gold and some that are natural porcelain. Keep your eyes peeled for the full set!
4. Drying out some Garland flowers on top of the kiln so they’re ready for the next firing.
5. Taking some time to wire up some of our butterflies.
6. Finishing a set of lace texture butterflies in a mix of pink, sage green and khaki green which I’m pleased to say is available on my website!
7. Outside of the studio I’ve been getting my house ready to sell, and it has now gone on the market! We moved into our barn conversion around 5 years ago and now that we have finished renovating it we are on the hunt for something new.
