Maria Nordgren started Momentum Pottery after arriving in Scotland 2006, found the Scottish Potters' Association and joined the vibrant community of makers and artists in Scotland. Maria loves working and exhibiting together with other makers. She collaborates with willow weaver Rachel Bower from Forfar, combining clay and willow to make decorative and functional work. They do two yearly open studio events at the pottery, where they also invite other makers. The pottery was extended in 2016, to provide space for pottery classes, run by Maria and Nancy Fuller, who specialises in wood-firing at her Anagama kiln in Aberdeenshire. Marias studio is equipped with an electric kiln but she is also firing work in a gas kiln with Fran Marquis at Springfield Creative Arts in Arbroath and has the last couple of years fired work in several wood fired kilns in Scotland and at Kigbeare Studios in Devon. Maria exhibits with SPA and Fusation, a group of 10 Tayside artists and makers.
