Fancy spending Mother’s Day weekend making something that actually grows?

I’ve been busy weaving hazel wreath bases by hand, ready for you to transform them into beautiful living spring wreaths.

Where?

Great Hampden HP16 9DR

When?

🌿 Saturday 14th March
🕥 10.30–12.30

£49.90

During this special morning workshop, you’ll create a completely compostable, living wreath using moss and foliage foraged from Oxmoor Farm’s woods, alongside a beautiful mix of seasonal bulbs — narcissus, muscari and hyacinths — plus bedding plants and trailing ivy.

Using the Japanese technique of Kokedama, we’ll wrap the bulbs and plants in moss before attaching them to your wreath base or suspending them with twine.

It’s practical, hands-on and surprisingly satisfying. Be as creative as you like — there are no rules.

Everything is sustainable and plastic-free.
When your wreath has finished blooming, you can compost it or gently deconstruct it and plant the bulbs into your garden to enjoy again next year. Your hazel base can be kept for future creative moments.

Afterwards, stay awhile — Oxmoor Farm Barn will be open for coffee, or lunch. Make a morning of it.

Spaces are limited and booking is now open.
Gift it. Share it. Or come on your own and reconnect with spring 🌿

This year, the rain has been on another level! I’ve had many sleepless nights worrying about my plot—especially my precious ranunculus. Normally, around this time of year, we’re constantly removing and reapplying fleece to protect these temperamental beauties. But not this year… no, this year most of the plants are learning to tread water!

After some invaluable advice from Andrew , I’ve covered the ranunculus to stop them from being repeatedly drenched and dug trenches to help drain the small rivers forming between the beds.

Flower farming isn’t always pretty—it’s full of highs, lows, and things completely out of our control. But sharing these challenges is just as important as sharing the blooms. 🌿

Warning: this reel is for flowing farming geeks! No pretty flowers to see yet!

A few weeks ago I shared a short reel called “Fence your field, fence your future!”
It showed Luke from .environmental.services putting up 200 metres of fencing — single-handedly — in just two days back on 4th October when the weather was glorious!

This is the longer version, with more detail on the setup, the process, and the practical realities of getting stock fencing in properly.
One for fellow growers, farmers, and anyone who appreciates good, efficient workmanship.
