Our cutting patch in June 🌿

This is the month of planting out the last of the seedlings, making more flowers beds, weeding and (the best bit) harvesting 🌿

We’re cutting lots of Penstemons, Snap Dragons, Mollis, Sweet Peas, Orlaya, mint and Raspberry foliage this week. I love seeing what’s coming next, which will be Achillea, Scabious, Roses and Baptista.

I’ve planted 130 Dahlias so far but still have a few trays of Dahlias that I’ve grown from seed that need to find a space!

Climbing up the fence next to the Sweet Peas are ornamental pumpkins which I’m really looking forward to seeing how they do at the patch. It’s all experimenting!

We now have a live feed of the cutting patch on a tv in the shop - so pop in anytime and see how it’s growing and changing with the season 🌱🌿

We celebrated our 5th birthday and were really busy as a member of Interflora. I still can’t believe we’d do around 300 deliveries over Mother’s Day weekend 🤯

So much has changed in 10 years but our passion endures!

Our Dahlia’s have been drying in the workroom all week and now it’s time to store them for next year 🪴 👋

I used wood shavings last year and that worked really well so am doing the same this year. Guess the most important thing is to make sure the tubers are completely dry before storing.

Next week all my tulip bulbs are arriving - always onto the next planting!
