Once upon a time, long, long ago……. I wrapped some gorgeous daffodil flowers up in super soft fibre and drowned them in a jar for 3 months! Now how is that for some fun!! Happy days. Thank you for your help. 😘 ☀️

So… I’m all for up cycling but even my friends think I’m slightly extreme…. I bought a second hand hand knitted coat and it was covered in little neeps. Rather than be peed off about spending hours snipping them off…. I grabbed the handful I had, chucked them through the carder with some Romney fleece I’m gradually cleaning and carding, and then threw it through the wheel. Literally. There was no careful planning or careful spinning involved. Et voila! .. a super cool fuzzy single with coloured tweedy bits! 😀.

Fantastic zoom lesson from Caroline . Learning how to use the natural dyes from and some ivyberry juice (collected on my dog walks) in Solar jars. This method may take months but it is much kinder to delicate fibre tops and hand spun yarn because it doesn’t need heating. And it’s totally natural and planet friendly. The ‘must do it now’ part of me is going to be seriously tested! 🤣Thank you Caroline!!

Very simple. Very thick. Very warm. 100% super chunky merino wool.

Difficult to photograph, this colour is more of a true aqua colour. A bit more of a green hint. The green/blue stripe is a hand dyed yarn with a subtle colour change.

Been weaving again. Mr S said I should do the Artisan Market in town in March. So that means I’m back at the loom. I wove a check from super soft merino. I know it looks lovely but I probably won’t be doing another checked scarf. Far too uniform for me. Following a repetitive pattern is a bit 🥱 and 😴. I’m definitely more of a ‘throw it all together’ girl and hope for the best 🤪.

I’m not one for making it easy 🤪. Random striping means lots of ties!

Thank you .wool for your gorgeous fibre 😍 and all the little buttons and stitch marker gifts. I’m really looking forward to spinning these 🥰. They will be going to France 🇫🇷 with us in the caravan when we are off on our sabbatical (unless I can’t wait until then! 😄)
