Another recently completed project by Mark Edwards Design Flooring ✔️

For this installation, we were asked to supply and fit beautiful PlusFloor LVT design flooring in a stunning Chevron pattern, finished with a bespoke walnut strip border flowing seamlessly around the room.

With the existing plywood subfloor already in place from previous flooring, preparation was key to achieving the perfect finish.

🔨 Day 1 involved feathering and sanding all joins to ensure the entire surface was completely smooth and level,including the mammoth task of making sure all previous nail heads were counter sunk.

🔨 Day 2 required a final round of touch-ups and sanding before we could begin setting out the design. Once prepared, we carefully measured the room, marked out the border detail, and started fitting the Chevron flooring.

🔨 By Day 3, the main floor installation was completed, allowing us to move onto the intricate cutting back and fitting of the walnut border details — bringing the whole design together beautifully.

The finished result is another fantastic transformation using one of our favourite flooring styles. Chevron designs continue to be a timeless choice, adding elegance, depth, and character to any interior.

We proudly use PlusFloor luxury vinyl flooring, known for its durability, realistic wood-effect finishes, and long-lasting performance. PlusFloor products offer excellent wear resistance and come with manufacturer-backed warranties, including up to 30 years residential warranty and 10 years commercial warranty when professionally installed and maintained.

Another stunning kitchen transformation completed by Mark Edwards Design Flooring.

This project required extensive subfloor preparation to ensure a flawless finish and long-lasting performance. The existing floor had several uneven areas and minor imperfections, so the first stage involved a full preparation process to create the perfect foundation for the new luxury vinyl tile installation.

We began by installing a high-quality Damp Proof Membrane (DPM) to provide essential moisture protection and ensure the longevity of the flooring system. Once the membrane was in place, we carefully applied a premium self-levelling screed compound throughout the kitchen area. This process eliminated bumps, corrected uneven sections, and created a perfectly smooth, stable surface ready for installation.

All preparation work was completed on day one, allowing sufficient curing time before returning a few days later to carry out the final installation. Proper preparation is one of the most important parts of any flooring project, and taking the time to do it correctly ensures the finished floor not only looks exceptional but performs to the highest standard for years to come.

For the final finish, the client selected the beautiful Polyflor Expona Commercial Sherwood Oak Herringbone luxury vinyl tile.

The Expona Commercial range is renowned for combining authentic wood aesthetics with outstanding durability, making it ideal for busy kitchens and high-traffic areas. The Sherwood Oak Herringbone design delivers a timeless parquet-inspired appearance with warm natural oak tones, realistic grain detailing, and a sophisticated matt finish that elevates the entire space.

Key features of the product include:
• Highly durable commercial-grade Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT)
• Realistic oak timber effect with detailed grain embossing
• Elegant herringbone installation pattern for a premium finish
• Hard-wearing and scratch-resistant surface
• Low maintenance and easy to clean

The finished result is a beautifully level, hard-wearing, and stylish kitchen floor that perfectly combines practicality with modern design.
