This one certainly kept us on our toes! 😂

We were faced with some pretty intricate hallways, with a mixture of existing surfaces including patchwork plywood, porcelain tiles and traditional floorboards. Not exactly the easiest starting point!

🔨 First up – the preparation!

We installed flooring-grade plywood where required, followed by specialist levelling screed compounds to bring the different areas to a consistent height, creating a smooth, seamless finish ready for the new flooring.

✨ Then came the fun part!

We installed the stunning Expona LVT Basketweave design throughout the main hallway, complemented by a matching-colour Herringbone design in the porch and rear hallway.

And believe us, there wasn’t a straight wall in sight in this house! 🤣📐 Certainly made for some interesting cuts and plenty of head-scratching!

The curved rear hallway looks absolutely brilliant with the herringbone flowing through it, and we’re delighted with how the different designs work together.

💪 It’s jobs like these that show why proper floor preparation and experienced fitting really matter!

Another challenging project completed, another cracking finish, and most importantly, another happy customer! ❤️

Returning customer Steph popped into our showroom to choose new carpets for her home while renovations were underway.

With the renovations almost complete, it was our turn to get stuck in! 💪

We supplied and installed 10mm luxury underlay, followed by a beautiful Trident Heathers carpet throughout the lounge and hallway.

💷 A LITTLE PLANNING GOES A LONG WAY!

By ordering just a little extra carpet for the lounge, we were able to make clever use of the offcuts to carpet the hallway too!

This time, we were booked in by a customer who was carrying out their own bathroom renovations and had already purchased their flooring.

The chosen product was the beautiful Karndean Art Select Marble LVT, and we were tasked with ensuring it was installed to the highest standard.

🔨 First up – Preparation!

The customer had already installed plywood, so our first job was to make good the existing preparation and ensure the subfloor was smooth, level and suitable for the new LVT installation.

💡 A last-minute design decision that made ALL the difference!

Just before installation, a decision was made to introduce feature strips between the marble tiles to create a realistic grout effect and really enhance the overall design.

A small change, but one that would completely transform the finished appearance!

With the feature strips ordered, we returned a couple of days later once they arrived to complete the installation.

😍 AND WHAT A DIFFERENCE!

The addition of the grout-effect strips has really brought this marble design to life, giving the floor a stunning, luxurious finish with that extra WOW factor!

We’re looking forward to seeing the completed bathroom once all the remaining renovation works are finished!

📍 The Project – Farmyard Bothy

This particular job involved preparing and screeding a floor with a central drainage system.

The challenge was to carefully build up the floor levels and create a controlled slope towards the central drain, allowing water and other liquids to flow away effectively.

✅ Site inspection and assessment of existing floor levels
✅ Careful planning of screed depths and drainage falls
✅ Building up the required areas with screed
✅ Creating a gradual slope towards the central drainage point
✅ Attention to detail throughout to achieve a practical, professional finish

Further works, including doors and additional materials, will be completed at a later date.

It’s not always about beautiful herringbone floors and luxury carpets! 😜

Another busy week for our team, completing a fantastic flooring transformation for our customers, Kay and Rick!

This particular job involved several different areas, each requiring its own preparation methods and careful planning to achieve the best possible finish.

🔨 FIRST UP – THE PREPARATION!

We started by applying a damp-proof membrane (DPM) throughout the hallway and correct primers for kitchen, followed by a self-levelling screed compound to create a suitable surface for our LVT installation.

We also delivered the flooring materials to site in advance, allowing them to acclimatise in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations before installation.

🏡 NEXT UP – THE LOUNGE!

Returning the following day, we began installing laminate flooring throughout the lounge.

The existing floor consisted of concrete-slab- meaning careful consideration had to be given to which flooring products and installation methods would be suitable.

Not every product can simply be fitted over an existing floor, and that’s where experience and product knowledge really matter!

✨ HALLWAY & KITCHEN – LVT INSTALLATION!

Next, we moved on to installing luxury LVT flooring throughout the hallway and kitchen.

This wasn’t quite as straightforward as it might look!

With a noticeable slope between the hallway areas, preparation was absolutely crucial. Using specialist smoothing compounds, we carefully prepared the surfaces to achieve the best possible finish.

The kitchen also had existing ceramic tiles, so once again, the correct preparation methods and suitable materials were essential.

🚪 THE FINISHING TOUCHES!

To complete the transformation, we installed entrance matting in the porch, providing a practical and attractive finishing touch to the job.
