Just wanted to say a huge, massive 'Thank You' to all that have supported me, and been patient too - has meant such a lot, truly!❤❤

I've been slowly healing, in all ways and am feeling stronger all the time. Energy is certainly returning, but have been focusing on welcoming the most lovely guests, and furry holiday adventurers to my Salty Towers The Annexe . That has been such a joy and a tonic indeed. I've met the most lovely, kind, thoughtful people and feel very blessed indeed. And meeting the furries too, since the passing of both our wee doggies, has warmed my heart so much. ❤

My 1st follow up scan showed me as NED which is great news, but Raigmore have been lax (putting it mildly and politely) in their monitoring and lack of care has been shocking - which probably explains the 8 months of recovery as had to fight for everything. I am one step closer now though, thanks to my Fight, my GP's (what a team at Kyle Medical Practice - all of them have been outstanding, gp's, the girls in the office etc - coildn't ask for better) The Eve Appeal, Ovacome and Target to getting my complete care transferred to The Beatson in Glasgow.
Seems odd being excited about finally getting to a Specialist Cancer Centre, but I am weirdly enough 🤣 I know I'll get proper monitoring by knowledgeable specialists, and if any future recurrences, I'll be in best hands and will have access to any clinical trials for new treatment. As yet there is no treatment for MOC. But The Beatson will be great, and specialists who know. Yay! The things that make me smile these days!🤣

Art/Creativity wise, I'm still a way off from being able to offer classes yet but my mojo is returning and with all you guys behind me - fab support, it is returning indeed. 😁 I've two sculptural projects on the go, and other 'projects' I must get completed too.
Gallery in Inverness has been great and just waiting to hear from me but no pressure. But Mr Nicols support has meant the world too.

So yeh guys, energy and strength, physically and mentally/emotionally/creatively, is returning. Shout out to artist Greg Dobson at Kyle's art 'hot spot' has been fab with support too!❤

But with any cancer diagnosis, and major surgery, I'm aware of being kind to myself and taking things at a pace that won't exhaust me, baby steps so long as they are going forward is my motto.

So huge massive thanks to everyone for sticking by me, Watch This Space!😁😁❤❤

Got this wonderful feedback from the lovely 'Anna' about my 5 of my 6 wee pieces! Makes me truly feel great when I know someone, out there, loves my work. Not sure how many people appreciate how that makes any creative person feel.. simply wonderful is the answer, and well worth the months and years of training and research, failures, many pounds worth of paint swiped off, or on the floor for disasters which still happen, 🤞 but less though now 🤣🤞🤞 The..'I.m giving up' feelings, throwing in the towel etc. These wonderful words makes it all worth while. Thank you dearest 'Anna'. I.m happy you're happy. Hugs n love ❤❤ My heart sings! 😁

Stunning, huge (16 inch diameter), triple layered freeblown glass plate with my own design handcut and personally sandblasted.
The plate has 3 layers with top layer in hyacinth, then amber then clear (which is white when sandblasted)
I completly masked off the entire plate then drew my design. Next step was to hand cut through the stencil following the outline of design which took forever with a scalpel.

I then followed my planned design for which parts would be which colour and painstakingly uncovered each section to sandblast through the layers to achieve the effects and desired colours and shading.
Being very heavy and large made the process quite difficult and actually tiring, as I held it with one hand and arm whilst using gun in the other. Without total concentration and focus, it would have been easy to make a mistake, but you only get one shot at it and there is no covering up or fixing mistakes.
Each time a section had been completed it was covered back up and onto the next.
On completion it was sent for polishing.

Completly unique in all ways and a one-off! From the handmade freeblown plate, to my own design and my own interpretation colour wise of that design.
A true statement piece.❤

£450 plus p&p (to be discussed) or collection from the Potting Shed.

I.m soooo proud of it and hope to have access to sandblasting equipment again to continue this magical process! I absolutely love glass in all ways. Previous pieces have travelled to Europe and US where one plate there has arrived in a spiritual retreat and is being used as a 'focus' for meditation sessions! How brilliant! 😁❤
