We are so happy to share an exciting new series of workshops bringing creative summer fun to kids aged 8-16yrs this holiday!

Come and join Kay Kay Prestney and Danielle Danielle Mowbray | Interior Designer | Essex | Suffolk at lovely new Wivenhoe venue for three fun kid’s workshops:

1. Mood-board your summer/Creative journaling: learn the art of mood-boarding to plan your summer adventures. Decorate your own journal to keep and explore how you can use the skills of scrap booking, visual journaling and creative writing to record all your fun!
Weds 29th July, 9.30-12.30

2. Create your own Festival! Bring the joyful vibes of Latitude to your garden this summer. Design a concept, name and logo for your festival before creating decorations and making your own festival t-shirt all to take home so you can bring your ideas to life!
Thurs 20th August, 9.30-12.30

3. Calling all Budding Interior Designers- join us to create your dream bedroom! You’ll learn lots of great interior design skills including mood-boarding, spatial planning, creating a colour palette, planning materials, thinking about storage and lighting, and exploring biophilic design to see how bringing nature into your home can help you feel happier and healthier. Finally, you’ll learn how to draw a room plan to help make your design reality!

Come and join me in one of my favourite places this Thursday for July’s Kinship Studio Sessions in Benhall, Suffolk, 10-1pm.

Home to the lovely Calligrapher & Designer we will gather in the cool of the old Apple Store (image 6) - a beautiful outbuilding with dreamy character and the perfect backdrop. Come and meet fellow small biz owners and creatives to connect, seek and share advice and find ways to collaborate.

Our last KSS until the early autumn, this promises to be a morning of soulful connection, laughter, brainstorming and problem-solving. We’ll be fuelling our creativity with tasty treats and coffee/herbal tea. Do bring along any of your products or makes and there will also be chance to take some images of them in this beautiful space.

These images date back to when I had the joyous pleasure of styling a branding shoot with Rebecca - Photography & Film for Hen to showcase her beautiful lettering across a series of tablescapes and room sets. If you need any signage or stationery to elevate a special event this summer, she is your girl!

This first photo looks surprisingly similar to one I took last year in Mallorca, but is actually a 20 min drive from our house. A lovely day with one of my oldest friends who is staying with me for a few days, making the most of our lovely part of the world.
A delicious tapas lunch with a glass of cold white for lunch at wonderful Gaia in East Bergholt which genuinely felt like being in Spain on holiday.
Followed by a lovely evening on the beach with yoga and breathwork by and a zen-inducing sound bath with Asa Michael Brotherton before a refreshing swim under the moon in the warm waters of the estuary as the sky turned pink and gold.
Who needs to go abroad this summer when we are lucky enough to have this on our doorstep?

Surviving the heatwave on the Essex riviera!

Starting the day with early morning beach yoga at Manningtree with followed by a fully clothed swim in the Stour estuary as even at 7.30am it was mid-20s and the river was calling through the morning haze.

Home made iced gazpacho (see stories for quick and easy recipe) in my favourite Frankie Atkinson bowl for dinner in the garden under the shade of our fig tree.

An evening stroll down the road to Prettyfields vineyard to drink frozen spicy lime margaritas at SKYLARK. and pretend we are on holiday.

Tea and medals… or more accurately rosé, chips and medals! Massive thanks Norwich Triathlon for a brilliant event last weekend. It was a big step for me to move from Sprint and Adventure Triathlons to an Olympic Triathlon and we couldn’t have asked for a better venue and well organised day.

Beautiful surroundings and dreamy lake for the swim, some nice rollers and a super fun speedy course on the bike and a lovely lakeside course for the run.

It’s been tough getting the training done especially with losing my Mum in Feb and getting a back injury in May. Big thanks to for putting the idea in my mind that it might be possible, helping me get strong and coming along to support on the day.

Massive congrats to my amazing Tri crew Sam Harty and Frankie Atkinson (and Haz!) for smashing it on Sunday. And big thanks to my lovely pal Annaliese Lancaster for providing endless positivity, running the last 5k with me and pouring water over my head when it got too hot!

Not going to lie, pretty proud of this one. 🏅🏊🏻🚴🏃

Massive congrats to Chew The Fat! for putting on a brilliant night out on Sat evening. I defy anyone to resist the pull of the dance floor when Paul is on the decks. Dancing is so good for the soul and a great crowd of local familiar faces out having fun. Brilliant to have Phillip Hartnoll Orbital playing in Ipswich. Well done Paul - when’s the next one?? Also… I need to install some neon angel wings in my house! 🪩🪽

I love the summer months when the garden becomes part of our living space… albeit in between the torrential downpours! I am constantly on the lookout for interesting second-hand finds to create new spaces that are pocket and planet friendly.

Here are some of the areas I have made using upcycled or vintages pieces:

1. A bar/display shelf on the reclaimed scaffold board deck, made using an old pigeon holes unit from and second hand FBMP lanterns.

2. An outdoor dining area on a patio built using salvaged slabs and a table and bench I made from reclaimed scaffold boards along with second-hand chairs.

3. A garden potting table made from a vintage beer festival trestle table, topped with second-hand porcelain tiles and a lovely old stone sink kindly given to me by a friend.

4. My greenhouse - we found this being offered for free, carefully reassembled it in our garden and painted it black for a Crittall style effect. A lovely old potting table from and an oak vintage bench from alongside a FBMP sideboard give me storage and growing space inside. Big thanks to my pal for taking me to an excellent recycling centre in Northants where I found the old jute chequerboard rug which makes it feel cosy under-foot.

5. A little wooden table that was being given away in a building reno project I was passing and a second hand chair make a lovely little outdoor office from where I can watch my seedlings grow in the found on FBMP.

6. My reclaimed garden room built from second hand finds, upcycled pieces and salvaged or free materials is a great refuge when it rains. I recently built a campfire area next to it with a lovely pair of vintage green French café chairs from and some cut logs as seating. The white side table was being given away by someone moving out of when I had my studio there.
