Well, hello! It feels like it has somehow been a thousand years but also no time at all, but here we are! I had a beautiful baby girl and, admittedly, with a 5 year gap, it quickly became clear that I had forgotten how difficult being a functioning human being is with a baby and my plan to only have a few weeks off was laughably optimistic so thank you for your patience (especially if you're still waiting to hear back from me for something!). I will be squaring away any outstanding emails, an order or two and subscription requests this week, thanks for bearing with me.

We have some new ghosts to share... Church Litten, Lap Dogs, The Patient in Pyjamas and the first three additions to our summer collection this year, 'Dragon Treasure', will all be available on the website and Etsy from 9pm this evening. Shipping times at the moment may not be as fast as I would like so do please bear this in mind if you do place an order and need it in time for a particular date or event (you can always message if you aren't sure).

I have made a couple of tweaks to the website to make it easier to navigate to ghosts which are currently available to order. These are now listed under 'Currenly Available', with the back cataogue listed under 'The Collection'. I have also updated the FAQ section as a first port of call for some of the more common enquiries to avoid keeping people waiting for a reply from me!

A little later than planned this evening, but it is the 15th February and there are three new spectres joining TWGE. Two Brading themed Island tales join the collection - Louis de Rochefort of the infamous former Wax Museum (inspired by a lovely story from our customer Michelle, thank you for sharing it with me) and Lady Denman of Morton Manor, as well as the first of our Spring 2024 ghosts, Sunflower.

New to the website tonight (still awaiting Etsy suppor, please bear with me): Love Note and Flutter for Valentines Day and The Roman Soldier.

Invaded and claimed as Vectis in 43 AD, the Romans left a significant mark across the Island, with several villas including those at both Newport and Brading surviving to this day. In 2003, a dog walker took to Brading Down, set above the Roman villa, on a bright winter's morning when something unexpected caught his eye. Walking alongside him, seemingly unaware of his presence, was what appeared to be a lone soldier in a Roman uniform. Able to observe flashes of wine-coloured cloth, brown leather and brass, the figure strode for a time before fading against the picturesque landscape. This would not be the last time he was seen and, seemingly, he may still be on the march across the Downs with the rest of his comrades...

Well, hello!

I'm sorry to have been so quiet! After some unexpected but necessary time off since Christmas thanks to colds, covid, chicken pox, changes of plan and more, and with only one of me to go around, it has been a challenging start to the year, but I am back and I have good news! Thank you all for being so patient.

Although unexpected, January has given me time to hit the brakes and make some of the upgrades and changes (second image) that I've wanted to make for a while now to improve TWGE overall and I'm pleased to share that these will be in effect from tomorrow! The pinned posts will be up with more information on the release schedule and details of the new subscription offer later this evening.

I have one more important update to share which is also very good news for me, but bitter-sweet too. I am expecting a baby in the Spring, which is very exciting, but has lead to the difficult decision to close my shop at Arreton. There are a few reasons for this, but primarily, I'm just not able to find sufficient cover for the time I will need to take and there's sadly no way around it. Although it's not definitely not what I'd prefer, closing now has allowed me to make the changes to streamline and upgrade my online offering, invest more of my time in the ghosts and customer service and to plan ahead to ensure that I can keep working without everything (except a regular sleep schedule) grinding to halt in Spring. It is certainly not goodbye forever to bricks and mortar, just au revoir - I'll miss hearing visitor stories and inviting people to get their hands dirty too much for it to be permanent! In the meantime, I am hoping to attend some trade shows and conventions and will share details here once they're in the diary. More exciting new elements are to come, so watch this space!

Ps. Etsy is misbehaving and may take a day or two to fix so tomorrow's releases may be late to Etsy, but it will be updated and stocked ASAP and I'll let you know here when it's fixed.

Hello!

Firstly, a BIG apology for the unexpected week away, delays and for being difficult to reach. I unfortunately had a rather nasty battle with cluster migraines which, if you know you know, make doing much of anything (including seeing) next to impossible. I was back in full swing yesterday and am fast catching up with the final outstanding orders going out tomorrow- again, I'm really sorry and am so grateful for your patience and understanding.

There is one final Christmas ghost out at the slightly later time of 7.30 this evening, along with a few restocks. The final order date for guaranteed Christmas delivery is next Friday 15th December, to be on the safe side. After Friday I will still do my very best but I have noticed some parcels travelling slower than expected recently so I won't be taking speed for granted.

Finally, this morning I purchased and dropped off six toys for the Toy Appeal, helping to provide gifts at Christmas for families who are facing difficulties, using the money raised from the sale of this year's Christmas collection! Thank you all for supporting it.

Happy Black Friday - I hope my American followers had a lovely Thanksgiving!

We have one new Christmas ghost this evening, which has an Island story rather than just being a seasonal edition, but that's not all!

In addition, from 7pm this evening until midnight on Sunday, we are running the 'Request a Ghost' feature again where we will make any ghost, in stock or not, from previous releases or collections - just enter the name of the ghosts you're requesting in the comment box at the checkout. Whilst you're there, you can enter BLACK20 at checkout for 20% off until midnight on Sunday!
