Warm welcome to Karin Norlén
Karin Norlén grew up in Sweden, the Middle East and Africa and studied the violin and the viola in Copenhagen, Jerusalem and Birmingham. She now enjoys a versatile career in the UK and beyond as a recitalist, chamber musician, teacher and orchestral player, working frequently with the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House and other London Orchestras.
Karin is a founder member of the Little Venice Ensemble; a collective of internationally acclaimed musicians in Sweden and the UK. Praised by the music critics and audiences alike, the group’s first disc Deck the Halls was awarded five stars by the Sunday Mirror and named runner up Christmas Disc of the Year by Classic FM in 2014.
Karin is also a visual artist and designer. During her violin studies in Jerusalem, she studied drawing and lithography at the world-renowned Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem. She has exhibited her work in the UK and Sweden.
Karin plays on a viola made for her by David Milward in 2019.
