Just arrived - new shades of the super popular Celtic Summer and the brand new Boho blooms fabrics from Lewis & Irene. I loved the ombre one so much I ordered it twice by accident!! 😂Quickly made a start on some bunting before closing. How lovely would that look for a garden party or wedding?

Look who's popped in store! Lots of beautiful puffin tins and bags for crafting storage from Emma Ball. Have you tried the magnetic needle minders yet? Perfect to save losing needles down the side of the sofa! 🧵

I've been looking forward to getting these beauties for months. I believe they are like "hen's teeth" so better grab myself some bits quickly as I'm sure they won't hang about!

New arrivals - cotton fabrics 110cm/44" wide & some Moda 'scrap' bags to try. Each has 30-40 strips of fabric 1.5-3" wide.

Day 6 - Small talk - the irony was the shop was so busy I never got time to do a post!
Day 7 - Why shop independent?
In summary... independent shops may cost a bit more but we provide a welcome space, sense of community, take time to chat and show an interest, provide advice plus you can see and feel the colour/quality of the goods.
It will be a sad day if there are only chain stores to wander round and our High Streets only have delivery vans.
Please shop local & support every small business you can when possible.

Day 5 of and the challenge today is to share the neighbourhood. Definitely not a problem in this beautiful part of the world! Banchory is perfect for a day out or a longer stay. Fantastic choice of walks, bike trails, Castles to visit, accommodation and a lovely busy traditional High Street to wander around. We have lots of independent shops and eateries - here is a selection of some of what we have in town....
