If, like me, you love Coed y Brenin and are horrified that NRW are determined to close the visitor centre (along with their other 2 sites), please would you consider signing the petition and getting your friends to sign also.
In these days when looking after Mental & Physical health is so critical, places like Coed y Brenin are so important.
10,000 signatures are required to stand a chance of getting the issue raised at the Senedd. It currently stands at approx 7400.
It would be wonderful if we could raised far more than the 10,000 to show just how important places like Coed y Brenin are to well being, as well as it being a benefit to the local area by bringing in visitors.
NRW cite that it is losing money (eg the Cafe) - there have been approaches by people well skilled in running hospitality but NRW have turned them down.
In regard to losing money, for the last 3 weeks at least, the camera on the barrier has been faulty, so there has been no revenue from the car park - lunacy as the 3 days we were there this last weekend, there wasn't a parking spot to be had. Surely it wouldn't take that long to fix the camera. They must have lost thousands of pounds in parking fees.
Maybe I am a cynic, but isn't this just something else that NRW can add to the lack of revenue over the bank holiday .
PLEASE SIGN and share as much as possible.
Closure of these centres runs contrary to the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act 2015. The closure of these visitor centres would have a far-reaching negative impact on the local economy, environment, and community well-being.
